Thursday, August 21, 2008, somewhere in Louisiana, headed south~

Dear Journal~

Hey!  It's your (bored) pal, Johnathon.  Have nothing better to do, so I am going to write in here, my pitiful excuse I call a "journal".

We're stuck on a bus, headed south towards Lafayette, Louisiana.  We won't be there for a few hours yet, so I decided to do something constructive before I become moldy from inactivity.  LOL  I am doing well; just can't wait until we get off this darned bus and into the motel, where I can veg out when we're not at the Cajun festival!

Yeah, we're going to another Cajun festival.  Ronee' and myself are both scheduled to perform; we were invited by some Cajuns to play down there at LeCajun, which is a huge Cajun music festival.  There'll be an awards ceremony, too, sort of like the Grammys, excepting they're honoring the best in Cajun music.

It's actually a lot of fun, but I get bored watching the dancers on the floor.  Oh, I go out there in my chair, but it's not the same; I miss being able to walk, kick my legs around, show off my latest dance moves.  I still dance, I just do it sitting down.  LOL  At least I get to hang around backstage, pester my sister, and talk to the Cajun musicians, talk shop, talk about the latest goings-on in our lives. 

It is nice to get away from Nashville, though.  I was starting to get a bit stagnant.  These few weeks before the start of school are the worst; it's getting to the point to where I can't wait to wheel myself into that bright, brand new school building and see my friends again!

I'm even starting to miss homework.  Now, is that crazy, or what??  Me, one of the worst schoolwork haters, missing schoolwork?  Or homework??  I think I need to go to the Emergency Room, have my head examined! LOLOLOL

I just hope that danged ole Fay in Florida doesn't decide to make a beeline for south Louisiana, flood all of the Cajuns (and the nonCajuns, the occidentals) out.  That'd just be my luck!  Then I can play "storm chaser", chase hurricanes from my wheelchair.  LOL (Like a kid in a wheelchair can tame a furious hurricane.  NOT!! LOL)  I would get some awesome video shots, though, maybe post them on YouTube..that is, if I were ALLOWED to go TO YouTube, which is off limits, dang it!!  LOL

I wonder why YouTube is off limits for me, the rest of the kids in my family.  I am sure not ALL of what they have on there is bad; I have seen vids on YouTube at my friend's house, and I didn't see anything objectionable!  Hmm, I thinks maman and daddy worry too much!!

Now the cat's out of the bag.  I've gone to YouTube without my parents knowing about it.  If they see this, I'm toasted.  I pray, hope they don't see this entry!  I'd just DIE!!!!  (NOT really, but you know what I mean! :P)

That stupid Ronee' is playing her accordion again.  If she plays one more song, I'm going to take that accordion of hers, stretch it out to its full length, then shove it down her throat--SIDEWAYS.  Then she WON'T be able to sing/play her music!! LOL  She's such a showoff I could pull her head off!! GRRR!!  She's driving me CRAZY!!!!

I'd tell her to shut up, but then maman would deck me a good one.  She doesn't like it when we tell each other to shut up; she says it's bad manners!  Well?? What are we supPOSED to do?? Just sit back and take it??

I don't THINK so!!

I will be hearing enough Cajun music down there in Louisiana:  I DON'T need a "preview"! 

Well, I am going to go now; catch more of the Olympics on television.  Hopefully the U.S.A. will add more hardware to put around their necks.  That would be nice.  No, beating someone like that Lightning Bolt guy from Jamaica would be nice!!!!  Someone needs to give his tennis shoes a flat; that'd slow him down somewhat!!  Give the AMERICANS a chance at gold; don't hog all the medals!! He's already got two!!  GRRRR!

I will write in here again, probably after the Cajun thingie is over.  Until then, this is Johnathon saying so long for now!

P.S.:  The pic is not one of my daddy.  The guy's name is Wayne Toups (although, when I first heard his name mentioned, I thought they were calling him "Wayne Poops"! LOLOL).  He's a great Cajun musician and singer; have seen him a few times.  He'll be there in Lafayette come the weekend; good chance I'll see him again.  :)
