Dear Journal~
Louie here. Sorry for not writing in a while; things have been crazy at best, if not at work, at home, too.
Our new foster child, Billy Ray, is here. What a little cutie pie he is; however, his innocent looks are deceiving. He's a devil-child. Spoiled rotten; wouldn't listen to a word I said. Kept me up all night with his banging around, yelling at the top of his lungs; I was ready to throttle him!!
I don't know if this was such a good idea. Maybe in time, Billy Ray will settle; until then, we will have to put up with his outbursts, try to deal with them the best way we possibly can.
I'm at work now; on break. Ahh! I am working the Cardiac Intensive Care. Wayne Wright's my patient. He had a heart attack a few days ago; he's in the ICU to be monitored. They say he is going to be okay; however, it was still a shock when he was brought into our ER, unconscious, pale, and fighting for every breath! He had an easy night; I pray this continues.
I've informed Audrey of Wayne's situation; I told her not to come up yet; if things change, I will suggest that she come up, but for now, her brother's condition has stabilized.
Vincente's adoption is now legal, permanent: he had his adoption hearing last week; he's now a permanent fixture of our International Family. Doing very well; we are so proud at how far he's come along since he's been with us!
I am worried: another dang-fool hurricane is lurking in the Gulf, and it's got its deadly eye(wall) on Louisiana. If there's one thing the Gulf Coast does NOT need, it's another hurricane! Forecasters are calling for further strengthening; by the time it hits somewhere along the Louisiana/Mississippi coastline, Gustav could very well be a dangerous Cat-3 storm.
Shades of Katrina all over again--and the Gulf Coast is still trying to rebuild, reeling three years after said hurricane!! I'm just glad LeCajun wasn't THIS weekend (or next); we've already gone through that with Hurricane Andrew back in 1992!!
Jodie has her surgery in just a few short weeks: her feet are pointing downwards; tendons, muscles need to be loosened. They cause her a great amount of pain; every time we try to put shoes or socks on her, she screams, cries pitiously; it breaks our hearts!
I pray she makes it through the effects of anesthesia: her health is so fragile; anything can happen so unexpectedly! Just keep her (and us) in prayer as we go through this upcoming trial!
Johnathon is gearing up for the MDA telethon, which kicks off on Sunday evening. We will be there, at the TV station, manning the phones, helping out. We always have a great time in helping people in need; it makes us sad, though, when we see people's conditions deterioating since the prior time we saw them last. Johnathon's own health has deterioated this year: he now has a trache, can't walk at all, requires more in the way of assistance; it's very disconcerting, frightening!
Through it all, Johnny's been a trouper; he has a great attitude about things, so that helps tremendously. I just wish we felt the same way as he does about his illness!
Ronee' is doing wonderful: no problems since her last hospital stay earlier this year, no bee stings, no asthma attacks, no flares since her last one in the spring. She's the very epitome of renewed health. I just hope, pray this continues; don't need to have her get stung by a bee or bitten by ants, only to cause her problems, or for her to have another flareup of her JRA!
I think this is the best summer Ronee' has ever had, healthwise! It's been nothing short of miraculous for her! (And for us!!)
Well, the Code-alarm is sounding off. Another Code Blue. So much for peace and quiet, hunh?? I hope it isn't for Wayne; I'd just die if it was! (Nope. Neuro-ICU. Wayne's in Cardiac ICU. WHEW! I do have to go; have to help out in any code, so I'd best go if the patient is to be saved!) I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Louie signing off! Take care and God bless; continue to keep us in your prayers/thoughts!
~Louie May. :(
