Dear Journal~
Sarah here. Sarah Wright. Sorry if I haven't written; have been very busy, haven't slept much. I'm past the point of exhaustion!
Wayne is home from the hospital. I didn't think he'd recover; he was very sick. His heart acted up, doctors had to give him digitalis and other meds to try to straighten up his irratic heart beats. He's finally responded, which has been a huge answer to prayer!
Wayne is very weak. He is feeling better, but he won't be doing much of anything until he gets stronger. Nurses come to help out, take care of him, make sure he takes his prescribed medications, make sure the oxygen apparatus he's hooked up to is working. They are teaching me how to do his machine; it's complicated, not to mention, quite scary.
What if something were to happen in the middle of the night? The thought of him possibly dying or getting sick again absolutely terrifies me!!
I don't think I could handle it if Wayne had another crisis; he's already had too many in his life as it is now!
The children are happy to have their Daddy home, but at the same time, they know he's been sick, so they've been trying to stay out of the way or help out when needed. The older children have also been watching out over the little ones, and Mother has been over, as has my sister, Serenity. They've been a huge help, an answer to prayer!
Pastor Bilkey and other members of our church family have been stopping by regularly, bringing food, flowers, get well cards, even have gone as far as giving us cash. Lots of it. All of a sudden, we're wallowing in money; we're not used to all of this generosity!
Louie has stopped by (she stopped by yesterday after work); she brought over one of her famous Cajun dishes. She didn't stay long, as she had to get home to her family. She did say that Billy Ray, her little six-year-old foster child, was leaving in the morning (today), and she wanted to be there for when the social workers came to pick him up.
I pray all goes well for him; he is one troubled little boy who needs a lot of patience, love, and understanding!
I have seen Billy Ray several times at church with the Sanduskys, and he's a cute little guy; however, you can tell he is a handful. He didn't act very outgoing; he had to sit out in the lobby when the noise from the music got to him. He started crying and pulling his hair; he was very agitated. People relaxed when he was removed from the sanctuary.
I am sure Louie and Bill are devastated that they couldn't do more to help little Billy. They did try their best; that was all they could do. Now I wonder where Billy will end up next; and I pray that whoever takes him in ends up being his permanent family.
Well, Wayne is calling; I have to go now. I will write in here again soon; just continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers as Wayne recovers from his heart attack! God bless!
~Sarah. :)
