Little Colton Ramey writes to let us know what has been new with him and his family.

Howdy!

It's your little bluegrass buddy, Colton Blaize Ramey!  Hope you are doing good; me, I couldn't be better!

I am in kindergarten now; am learning to read, write my name, do my numbers.  It's a lot of fun, and I've made a lot of good friends.  I also love my teacher, Ms. Pennypacker; she's really nice!

I go on the bus ever' morning; at first, I cried, didn't like it, but now I'm gettin' used to it, slowly.  On the weekends, I still sing, pick with my family; we sing at local Oprys and stuff.

I don't watch "America's Got Talent", not like I used to.  It's on the same night we have church, so there you go.  I have to miss it.  My little friend, Kaitlyn Ashley Maher, is still in there, and she's the one I want to win.

I look at her picture that she sent me, and I can't help but smile.  I think I'm in love! :)

I'm really gettin' good on the fiddle.  My fiddle teacher is really proud of me.  He says I should be able to play "Orange Blossom Special" before too long; he says I have the desire to learn (whatever that means).  That song is one of the hardest to play; if I could play it, or even play it fast, I'd be happy! :)

I want to learn how to play banjo; my big brother Casey (he's seven) can play the banjo really good.  My sister, Arianna (she's six), plays the mandolin, and my mommy plays guitar while my daddy plays harmonica, fiddle, and banjo, and can sing.  (He doesn't play 'em all at once; that'd be somethin' to see! LOL)  I want to be able to play a million instruments plus sing; I want to be a bluegrass superstar!!

If that doesn't work out, I want to be a law person, throw the book at the crooks, put 'em in jail.  (Or is that a policeman?? I can never remember! LOL)

Well, mommy is calling, it's soon time for supper.  We're havin' tater tots, fish sticks, and broccoli (YUCK!).  I will eat the tater tots and fish sticks, no problem, but no way am I touchin' the broccoli!  Broccoli is NASTY!!  UCH!!

I will write in here again soon; bye!

~Colton Blaize. :D

Hey little pal, don knock broccoli try a little butter on it and you will beg for more.
I hope you learn to play something so we can have that heavy silence broken by little fingers.
And don't get in trouble in the school bus!

Hello Karen,

This is so heartwarming like "Tom Sawyer" and it brought to mind a
song my Dad used to sing for me -"Oh Susanah" (with a banjo on my knee). Very down-to-earth.

Colton is a cutie! Love his attitude. Well done, Karen!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

LOL at "throw the book at the crooks" and "He doesn't play 'em all at once; that would be something to see!" It would, indeed. LOL
