I'm rubbing my shoes I'm rubbing my shoes I'm rubbing my shoes and the next thing I know I'm walking on a street where all kinds of people are dressed real nice.  Men wearing suits and nice hats, women dressed in nice fur coats.  I see all kinds of old 'model Ts' going up and down the street.  I ask a good looking fella what year it is and where I am.

The fella gives me an increduous look.  "Are you in a dream world lady?  It's Chicago, 1928?"

I smiled at the fella and said thank you.  I honestly couldn't tell him I was in a dreamland.  Of course it's Chicago and it's 1928.  It can't be LA and 2008 because the people are so well dressed.  Nobody walking around half naked or looking like a mohawk Indian.   All the men are clean shaven, all the women have that flapper style hairdos.  Nobody is saying dirty words every 2 minutes.  The Lake Michigan air also was so clean and fresh because the 'horseless carriage' has only been around a few years, not a hundred years.  The people looked happy because it's only been 20 years since the Cubs last won the Series, not a hundred years. 

I could hear the lovely sound of a piano playing and people singing coming out of the many 'tea rooms' that dotted what I think was State Street.  They were singing a popular song back then, 'Shine on Harvest Moon.'  It was kind of nice to hear people singing a song with words I could understand, unlike in 2008. It was also nice to hear that the people were actually happy and content and not dead drunk, you know with Prohibition going on.  People were guzzling TEA AND SOFT DRINKS, NOT ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.  NOBODY WHO 'FOLLOWED THE RULES' IN 1928 HAD TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING INTO THEIR 'MODEL T' AND GETTING ARRESTED FOR A DUI.
