The day we have waited for is here. Our son, Carston Stryker, is out of the hospital, back home, where he belongs!
And yes, he did get that promised ice cream sundae. It was a day of celebration and praise to our Saviour, who got our second youngest through yet another (painful) surgery!
Carston is still in some pain, but every day the pain will get less, and he'll soon get back doing the things he loves best. Spinner and Maeli have been helping out, making Ethan's and my job as parents a lot easier.
Carston has been a little trouper through all of his surgeries. They may knock him down for a while, but it isn't long before he is acting like the typical little terror he's known to be! LOL Spinner always complains about how his little brother drives him crazy (Maeli could care less!), but deep down inside, I know he loves him very much, as only brothers can do.
Spinner is happy: in a day or two we may get storms, which will give him more opportunity to delve into his interest in meteorology. He wants to go chasing the storms; we won't let him out in the elements. Every time it storms he has his face pressed against the window, eyes all aglow with wonder as he watches the lightning flashing outside.
Spinner. My little future meteorological wunderkind. Oh, how he loves all things weather!
Don't know where he picked up his weather interests: I'm scared of thunderstorms, especially if they contain "hidden surprises" that I don't want to know about (i.e., tornadoes, hail, high damaging winds, flooding rains)! LOL Ethan could care less; he says he sleeps better when it storms.
I don't know how he does it! As for me, every time it storms I'm wide awake, praying desperate prayers to God, to keep us safe. And then there's Spinner, oohing/aahing after every lightning strike, crash of thunder, just drinking it all up!
Well, I am going to go. Have to let the durn cat out; she's meowing incessantly, keeping us all awake. Don't know what she wants, but if that cat doesn't stop meowing soon, I'm going to silence her meower--permanently! (NOT really, but that cat IS getting on my LAST nerve!) Take care and God bless!
~Love, Wendy Patterson, Carston's mama. :)
