Dear Journal~
Wayne here. I am back home; I just got out of the hospital three days ago, and I am still feeling pretty weakened. I am taking breathing treatments, and I have been using oxygen at night. I had pneumonia; it really took a lot out of me.
I am feeling somewhat better; however, I am feeling pretty weakened. It doesn't take much for me to get out of breath, and I find myself wanting to sleep all of the time.
Sarah and the kids have been dears in helping their old man LOL; I wonder what my life would be like without them; I am truly blessed.
I do have some bad news: Susie was attacked by some creepazoid in a hotel room (don't ask me what she was doing there by herself), and she's been terrified. Micah, Rebekkah's father, was able to get her; she's now staying with them for the time being.
I am thankful that she wasn't killed or more seriously injured; it's just that everything's seemed to pile on the Callaways, and I wonder what else is going to happen. It's like Satan is attacking that family, and it has me very concerned. I am scared that Susie is either going to end up getting raped or possibly even killed; the thought of losing my precious niece absolutely terrifies me!
I have been praying for a special hedge of protection on not only Susie, but Audrey, Rick, Kent, and the rest of the family. They have been going through some incredibly hard times these past few years and it seems like things are only getting worse for them.
While I sit here recovering, Sarah, the kids, and even friends have been making sure I have all I need. Friends from church and work have been stopping by, bringing us food, cards, even prayer, words of encouragement on my behalf, and even money. I tell them not to do this, but they continue to do so. Now we have extra money, which does help in today's shaky economy; that way I don't have to worry so much about my wife or the babies.
Louie Sandusky stopped by yeterday for an hour; she brought me one of her famous home-made pumpkin pies. I didn't eat much as I am on a no-salt, low-carb diet; I did have a nibble, though, and it was to die for! She is such an incredibly gifted cook; she ought to seriously give up nursing and go into the restaurant biz; she'd make a fortune and become a multi-millionaire!
Louie: oh, the world could use at least a million more like her!! She is truly special; I am so glad that God brought her into my life!
Well, I am getting sleepy again, so I am going to put this down and rest for a good while, enjoy the peace and quiet. (Sarah's here with me, I am not alone.) The older kids are at school; the little ones are with their Auntie Serenity for the day, to give me and Sarah a much needed reprieve. We appreciate it more than they will ever realize; the kids have really been on a tear lately!
Take care and God bless! Keep those prayers for Susie, Audrey, Rick, and myself coming; we can really use them! Thanks!
~Wayne. :(
