The Old Man
Stacy went to the street to watch for the bus. She saw an old man sitting at the bus stop and he had on a black top hat and was wearing odd shaped glasses. He also had a tux on or some sort of suit that she had never seen before. He had many wrinkles that showed visible on his face. His hands were folded on his lap and he was clinching a paper tightly. He didn’t seem to notice that Stacy was standing near him and she examined his every move. His head was down to the ground and he was mumbling something under his breath but she couldn’t tell what he was saying. Stacy looked down the street once again for the bus. It was getting late and the sun was starting to go down. Stacy was only 15 and went to piano lessons every Friday. She had a good lesson today despite the day being Friday the 13th. Her teacher had commented to her how well she was learning her new song and that she was learning quickly. It was now dark. She looked at her watch and it was 6 p.m. She thought it was too early to be dark already but simply shrugged her shoulders and looked again down the street. The old man suddenly got up from the seat and touched her shoulder and said something to her. She had to bend down because he was very short and he was whispering very softly. He said to her..”don’t be afraid but you will very most likely learn a terrible secret tonight.” Stacy shuddered and a coldness suddenly went up her back and she felt very unsure and afraid. Stacy pulled away from the old man and he sat down once again still clinching the paper in his hand.
Stacy looked down the street and saw the bus coming. Finally the bus is coming, she thought to herself. Now I can get home and be safe and he cannot hurt me there. The bus came to a stop and opened its doors. She went up to the bus driver. It was not the normal bus driver but this bus driver had on what looked to be a cloak and his face was covered in a hood. Stacy could only see his eyes and she dropped the fifty cents into the drawer for the bus fare. The bus driver waved her to the back and his fingers were long and curled. There was nobody else on the bus but her and the old man. The old man got on the bus and sat down across from Stacy. He never looked up or spoke to her on the bus. She noticed he was still holding the paper in his hand.
The bus took off quickly and was driving very fast. Stacy looked outside and saw blurs of passing cars and people rushing around. She could not make out any faces. The bus driver seemed to be going faster and faster and she had to hold onto the seat in front of her so she wouldn’t fall off. All of a sudden the bus came to a stop. Stacy hurled forward out of her seat and found herself at the front of the bus. The bus driver pointed to the door but said nothing. Stacy looked at the bus driver but could not see his face because he was totally covered in a black cloak. The old man was behind her and whispered in her ear..”Stacy..go! The old man pushed her down the stairs of the bus and the bus doors opened. Stacy found herself outside of the bus with the old man right beside her. Stacy looked around to see if she recognized anything. She did not recognize a thing. She did not see her house, she did not see anything. It was very dark and a fog had rolled in. Stacy thought it was quite odd that she didn’t see any cars or houses. She seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. The old man was right behind Stacy and whispered in her ear..”Stacy, go that way” and he pointed his finger toward a lone road and Stacy started walking down the road. Stacy wondered why this old man was following her but for some reason was not afraid anymore. She kept walking and saw a lot of people standing in a circle. They were wearing black clothes of different sorts and some were crying. She tried to make out faces but she could not make out anyone. The faces were blurred and she did not understand what was happening. The old man was once again behind Stacy and whispered in her ear..”Stacy..go!” and he pushed her ever so slightly and Stacy felt herself falling, falling down. It was very dark. Stacy was now laying on her back. Stacy reached up and felt something. It felt hard and Stacy realized that she was inside something. Stacy tried to feel around and realized it was a box she was in and started pushing on it to try and get out. Stacy could not get out of the box. Stacy was trapped! Stacy started to scream but no sound came out of her mouth. Stacy yelled..”help me!” “Someone please help me!” and Stacy kept trying to get out of the box. Suddenly the old man reached into the box and pulled Stacy out. Stacy looked down at the box. Stacy was looking at herself. Stacy was floating in the air looking down on herself in a casket. Stacy did not know how this was possible. The old man took Stacy by the hand and started going into the ground. Stacy did not want to go with this old man. Stacy wanted to go back home. Stacy wanted to see her mother. Stacy wanted to be anywhere but where this old man was taking her. Stacy was now face to face with something that was very big and standing over her. The thing sneered at Stacy. The thing laughed at Stacy a very cruel laugh. The thing lit a match and revealed its identity. The thing looked somewhat like a snake and she couldn’t tell what it was. It had huge horns and very large teeth. Its eyes were very dark and peered into Stacy and Stacy felt very hot. Stacy looked down at herself. Her hands started burning. Her feet started burning. Then her whole body lit up in flames and now Stacy just wanted to die. The old man gave the paper to the thing that was standing over her. The thing took the paper and read it..it said..”This is Stacy and she never accepted God into her heart although she had numerous opportunity to do so..she is now doomed to the pit of hell for eternity.” The thing read the letter out loud. The old man was no longer there. The thing looked at Stacy and laughed sneering and hissing. Stacy screamed as the agony of her flesh burned. Stacy screamed but no sound came out of her mouth. Stacy felt all the pain of being burned alive. Stacy looked down and saw a huge pit with many others burning alive and so many people screaming and crying and being tortured in various ways by other things that were more horrible than the one that was standing over her.
Stacy decided to try and pray. She prayed..”God, if you are there, please I will accept you into my heart if you will just get me out of here! Please God, rescue me now!” Ding! Ding! Ding! Stacy woke up in a cold sweat. She fell out of bed and fell on her knees. Oh God she prayed thank you so much for saving me. I know that was not just a dream but it was real and I will never reject you again!
