If not, let me enlighten you. I am the one who wrote about our (then) newest child, Thu Hoc, whom we adopted from Vietnam last November (gosh, has it been nearly a year already??).
Her name's since been changed to Korina Grace, and it fits her perfectly!
We have three other children, Kensington (who is now 7), Kaylie (8), and Kristmas (five). They were ours, our three birth children, before little Korina Grace even entered the picture.
Now we have Korina Grace, and we are getting ready to add to our family within the next few weeks. We are adopting a little boy (aged two) from Africa (Kesogo, whom we will call Charles), and a three-year-old little girl (AnaGraciela) from Mexico.
Korina Grace has been nothing but a huge blessing upon our lives. She is the perfect little child, with an open, engaging personality that belies her rough start in life. She is handicapped; none of that has ever stopped her once she got the appropriate diagnosis, treatment, and therapies. She has cerebral palsy, which explains the use of crutches and speech problems she has.
Her disabilities are only a small part of her. She has learned to compensate by doing things in her own special way. It may take her a little longer, but she will get them done, no problem. Her tenacity, her courage, her will is nothing short of extraordinary. God has certainly blessed us by giving her to us!!
Kaylie, Kenny, and Kris just dote on her. They are getting excited: soon they will have a new little brother and sister to love. They look at the pictures I have of them every day, and they ask us if today's the day they're coming. I tell them to be patient; it will take time for little Charles Kesogo and AnaGraciela to arrive from their prospective native countries and into our home (and hearts).
They love Charles and AnaGraciela already. Even Korina has become familiar with them. She talks to them at night when she's saying her prayers; she asks God to keep "her brubber and sis'er safe" until they can come home. It's really sweet to listen to her!
I am blessed to have four healthy children; we will soon have two more, to bring up our total number to six. What's two more to love??
As long as we have love in our hearts and a home to give, we will accept Charles and AnaGraciela joyfully!!
Charles has a clubfoot; AnaGraciela is profoundly deaf. We have been busy learning sign language, so we can communicate with our new daughter. We've also made our home more accessible for Korina and Charles, so they can maneuver around our house easier.
Well, that is all that is new with us. I will write in here soon, probably after Charles and Ana come; things are going to get busy (as if the Hallowe'en, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays coming up aren't crazy enough). The more the merrier, I say! LOL
