Lousiana writes in her journal prior to gathering the troops to go to breakfast and church.

Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008 (don't forget to vote this week!!), 6:57 a.m., C.S.T.~

Dear Journal~

Hello!  Louie here.  Thought I'd write in here before getting the troops assembled, ready for breakfast and church.  Hopefully, if all goes well, we'll be out that door within a half hour to forty five minutes, while the food is still fresh.

This morning, we're eating at Golden Corral.  They have a marvelous food bar; food's always fresh, hot food hot, cold food cold.  The way it should be.  And the workers there are so friendly, attentive; it's no wonder we enjoy eating there just about every week!

Tuesday is Election Day.  I've already voted, as did my husband and kids who are old enough to vote.  We can only hope that the one we voted for gets in, or at least those who vote vote with their heads, not just with their hearts.

I will have to pray awfully hard for our candidates, pray that they get in touch with the American people, and deliver what they promise, not just give out false hopes.  It's no wonder people are so frustrated, fed up.  In the past, candidates made promises they couldn't keep.  And a lot of them have lost all sense of what the American people want; they're only interested in themselves, their interests.

The Harvest Festival on Friday went without a hitch:  several thousand people (many of them in costume) were in attendance, and the weather was perfect; you couldn't have asked for better weather!  The Kevin Spencer Family did a marvelous job; the people really liked them!  I'd say it was a howling success! :)

Now the church is starting to shift gears, their focus.  On Thanksgiving, they will be feeding some of Nashville's neediest citizens, with a free Thanksgiving dinner for them.  There is also the Christmas Cantata to start thinking about; that is always a big deal.  In addition, on Veteran's Day, we will be honoring the veterans with a special military-themed service, then dinner-on-the-grounds afterwards for all veterans and their families.

I am involved with the veterans celebration; I will be making pumpkin pie, making some of the decorations for the services.  My father served his country; he will be involved, too.  A veteran helping other veterans.  That's the way it should be.

God bless our veterans; they deserve all the respect, praise, and accolades we can possibly give them instead of treating them like second class citizens!  They fought for our country; give them the honor that they are long overdue!

Now that I've jumped off my soapbox, I can continue...

Did you put your clocks back?  Last night daylight savings time ended; we're back to the old time.  Spring forward, fall back.  That's the thing to remember.  Otherwise, you're going to be either very early or very late, depending on your situation, and there will be a lot of very unahppy people who found out too late that they should have put their clocks back! LOL

We put our clocks back last night, before we even went to bed.  We have gained an extra hour of sleep; that hour felt awfully good!  I feel more rested this morning; I know I slept like a log last night!  I was tired!!

Well, I am going to go; kids are starting to revolt; they want to eat NOW, not yesterday, not even next week.  Before there is a full-scale riot in our vans, I will have to go, so to soothe the savage, hungry beasts.  Until later, this is Louie signing off; will write in here again soon!  Take care and God bless you mightily!

And don't forget to vote on Tuesday if you havn't already done so; the future of our country is at stake!!

~Love, your friend in Tennessee, Louisiana Mayrah. :D

A very good work. I hope also that whomever wins the election will keep the promises made. WE have to start taking care of business in this country. So much needs to be done.

I hope that a few lonely War Veterans read this one, they will not feel so alone, at least for a little while.
Thanks, we need to remember America.

A lot of things on Louisana's agenda: Golden Corral, church, voting, the festival and veterans celebration. I imagine this is a normal srt of day for many busy families with children. Thanks for the "turn back the clock" reminder. Good write.

Thank you Karen for the very patriotic and touching write. And for reminding me about the clocks. You and Karla are so special and always give us what we need to start our day. I thank you for that. Love and hugs, Bonnie
