Tuesday, November 4, 2008, Election Day, 10:18 a.m., C.S.T.~

Dear Journal~

Sarah here.  No, not Sarah Palin, but the other Sarah.  Sarah Wright.  (A little political humor here.  Very little! LOL)

I pray this finds you well.  We are doing okay, especially since Wayne, my husband, has been released from the hospital.  He's still weak, on oxygen at night, but every day he feels stronger, and is starting to feel more like himself.  I pray his return to good health continues; he's been through so much in his life!

Speaking of politicks, I have done my part.  I've done my patriotic duty:  voted for the candidate I feel would do the better job of leading our country for the next four years.  I only hope that people realize the importance of this election, why our country's future is banking on it.

While neither candidate is a shining example of what a leader should be like for our country, I'm pulling more for the Republican side of things.  Somehow there's something about Barack Obama that I can't put my finger on that makes me ill at ease.  If  he gets in, I worry about what direction our country may be headed.  Now, he may end up doing a great job, but I've heard too much about him already, and it makes me uncomfortable.

I guess you know now who I voted for.  LOL

Our country, what it stands for, is being tested.  I pray that the right man gets in, and I pray that we have a spiritual awakening.  We need to return to the Biblical foundations upon which our (once) great nation was based upon when she was founded by our forefathers.  I pray that our veterans, our elderly citizens, our disabled, our children get the help here that they need; there's so many people here that need assistance, more now than in any other time in history.

I pray that prayer/discipline is brought back into our homes, our schools.  I pray that the sanctity of marriage (i.e., one man, one woman, not two men or two women) is preserved.  I pray that abortion is made illegal, and I pray that something is done to curb the growing illegal alien situation that's plaguing our nation, taking jobs away from our own people.

I pray that the war in Iraq is over soon, and I pray for the safety/protection of our borders, to stave off further terrorist attacks.  We've already had one nine-one-one; we don't need another!!

Never have I spent more time in my prayer closet, praying for our nation's fate as I have ever since this darn election started!  I am worried for our nation's future, especially if the wrong man gets in.  There's no telling what may happen if that occurs; I don't even want to think about it, or try!!

Bill Sandusky is at the church, helping out with the polling.  He's been very vocal about the candidates, let alone, the election.  He and his wife are very staunch Christians, and they have been encouraging other people to vote. 

We need more patriots like them; our country is sadly going the other way, because people are afraid of getting involved, for fear of offending.  Now, that's ludicrous!!

This is when we, the majority, need to rise up and shout:  NO MORE!!!!

Well, Wayne's calling, so I will go for now.  I will write in here again in a few days; I pray Wayne continues to get better, and I pray that our nation wakes up before it is too late!
