Can you believe it??  I haven't written in this, my journal, in three months.  THREE months.  Where does the time go by so fast??

Seems like only yesterday when we were being inundated with political drama/news; now the election is history; we have a new president.  Granted, not the guy I would have voted for, but let's face it:  Obama was the popular one; he won by a landslide.

McCain didn't have a chance.  Or a prayer.  Oh, well, maybe Obama can unite the nation; let's hope so; America is in one mell of a hess!!

Nathan Lake here.  The one with the pukey-ugly face.  I'm doing okay; in school again, have scads of homework just about every night.  It's incredible how much homework the teachers pile on us kids; they must enjoy torturing us like this!!!!

Church keeps me busy, too.  The Fall Harvest Festival has come and gone (I helped out with the car smash; what a lot of noisy fun was had by all who came by!!), and it was a rousing success.  I didn't get to hear the Kevin Spencer Family; such a shame.  Like their music, even though they're more country-flavored.  (Not too keen on most country music.)

Over three- to- five- thousand people came to the event; they were shooting for ten thousand, but only three/five thousand people came.  Lots of Hallowe'en/other celebrations going on; people had many to choose from.  We weren't the only church having events going on Hallowe'en night; other churches have jumped on the bandwagon, too, as an alternative to the traditional Hallowe'en celebrations.

Now the shift has focused to our Thanksgiving event (we're feeding the homeless of our city, giving 'em a free Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings), and we are also going to feed our veterans (free meal again) on Veteran's Day, as a way of thanking them for their brave service to our country. 

In addition to that, we have the Christmas Cantata to think about.  The choir has already started rehearsing some of the music that's going to be used in the production. 

Ronee' Reaux will be doing her annual solo of "O, Holy Night"; I hear that song, hear her sing it, and I get goosebumps on top of my goosebumps!  That girl has a voice that could stop traffic; she's that good!  Oh, I'd give anything to sing halfway as decent as she does!!  WOW!!

I still would like to know where all that power comes from!  She's little in size, but wow!! What a voice!!

Johnathon, her brother, will be heavily involved in the Cantata as well:  he is doing all the sign language, so our deaf members of the church can follow along with the production.  He does an excellent job of communicating with the deaf; I'd love to learn sign language, too, so I could figure out what he was saying!  LOL

One reason Johnathon's so good with sign language is because he's deaf, too.  Wears hearing aids in his ears; can talk quite well for not being able to hear, though.  He became deaf when he was a baby; he had meningitis, and it affected his brain, his hearing, his speech, his eyesight.  Sad story, that!

He also has MD; he's in a wheelchair, and has a trache.  His disease has worsened, but he refuses to let it rule him, break his spirit.  He's nothing short of incredible, and I am so happy that Johnathon Sandusky is one of my friends!  :)

I am still chasing after Gemini; she's too busy with gymnastics.  Darn.  I sure do like her bod; she's hot!!!!  (Gemini's a sister to Johnny and Ronee'.)

Why can't galz get over my ugly mug?? I'm a person, too; can't they learn to see that I'm a good guy inside??  I HATE that!!!

People always make assumptions; they think since I have an ugly face, then I must be ugly inside, too.  NOT the case!  I'm probably one of the nicest guys around; people need to take a chance and get to know the real Nathan Lake, not just look at The Face!!  GRRRRR!!!!

Well, I gotta run.  School, you know.  Bus will be here within the half hour to forty five minutes.  Best get my gear together, be out that door in time for the bus to arrive; don't want to miss it!  I will write in here again soon; until later, this is Nathan signing outta here!  See ya; God bless!
