Madison is two. Today was Trouble!

What's a girl to do?  So much to get into..

Sure, toys and dolls are fun...for awhile; then what?  Ooh... daddy's computer looks like fun...and...what about that drawer with all the snacks...Ha..they think they can hide those cookies from me!

I'm a big girl now.  Potty is almost done, I know when to go without help...but it's so boring in there... all alone with only me and that chair. Oh yes, Granny's perfume and powder is in that cabinet, that's fun to try.  I already got in trouble for wadding all those rolls of toilet paper the other day, but hey...I didn't mean for them to roll out into the hallway, just wanted to tear a few pieces then it flew away.  Wow, that was quite a day...got a swat on my booty, and crying didn't help...but I won't do that again.

Hmmm....let me think...there must be something in here that I can do while daddy's taking a shower.  He said, "Don't get off the bed...Don't touch my computer...Don't get into that drawer...Don't, Don't, Don't!"   So.... he won't know I've climbed down for a minute, I know I can type just as good as he can....let me show him how fast I can hit those keys....ohohohohoo.. It went black!  Hurry, get down off this chair, he won't know I was there. Whew, that was close.  Oh lookie... I see where he hid those cookies, let me get a few.  Wow, there is a chocolate candy bar too, this is like heaven, so many goodies... hurry...eat them fast, he'll be back in a flash..

I'd better get back on the bed, he's almost done and he'll be mad if he finds me in his drawers..so.. I'll read these new books granny bought me, but they are getting old...I've looked at them for days.   My toes are cold, and I need some socks, guess I'll get those pretty new ones from my drawer....yes...the ones with pretty ruffles look nice....so let me put those on....and bet daddy will think I'm so smart.

Guess I'll put this quilt on myself, and pretend that I am sleeping...that will keep him happy, and he'll never know I've been creeping around his stuff..  I love stuff.... daddy's stuff...  oops...I need to go potty......but man...I'm so comfy, it's warm here, under the cover...my feet are warm...and I hate to go sit on that potty....ummmmmmmmm.......he'll never know.

Madison.....Madison.....it stinks in here!!!!! I know you're playing possum....wheeeeee....what did you do?  Oh my gosh... come on... it's time for a bath... I don't like this job so much...being daddy is not so cool....

Whew...that was close.... he's mad but so far so good... he's cleaned the mess...but I'll be good, and eat my food, won't spill a drop, and then I'll smile and send him kisses...granny too...since I smell like her perfume and powder...she won't miss that little bit.   What??????  The Corner!!!!!  Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa........not the corner.....waaaaaaaaaaaa................. well, maybe just 5 minutes.... What?????  20 minutes... I may as well be in prison... I said I'm sorry...just because the big fat beautiful blue bedspread is full of poop....and poop is on my gown, and on the carpet....and on my book....and.......and....... What????? 10 minutes standing in the corner, and 10 minutes sitting in the corner????  No books, no crying, no moving...

Granny will save me...she always does... "GRANDMAAAAAA......HELP......"    No way missy.. she says.... what a traitor... just when I thought she'd save me she jumps to daddy's side...  wow... what a big deal they've made of washing the spread, and clothes, and cleaning the rug, and throwing my book away....MY BOOK....what's a little poop?  Guess I'd better just stand here and look at this stupid corner...wish I had a crayon!

The stories I've received about children and their antics after posting this story have come in droves....some are so funny that I may end up putting them in a book of their own.... How about that? Any stories you'd like to send me like this???

I could tell a few stories like this... only from my six year old's perspective and throwing things... ARGH!

This is too cute! I have a 2 year old grandson, Patrick Tyler, we call Ty. Ty spends alot of time outs in the corner, but there are times when "Ganny", (that's me), doesn't give him his way, and he actually tells ME to "go to time out, Ganny! 5 minutes in the corner!" Thanks for sharing, Linda.

I love this and it sounds so much like one of my granddaughters off days, but after all that...it is amazing how a hug, a smile and an I love you Daddy, can make it all dissappear.

Linda,
Your hilarious view into Madisons world of why she did it, is excellent, as though you were in her little mind. But of course she was only doing what two year olds do....but your preciuos descriptive story gives humour to her antics. I am sure it is not funny to her dad, but we all enjoyed it. You are a very talented writier in all areas. Got a crayon?? A great ending!
Thanks for the morning laugh!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH how precious is this? I absolutely loved it. The corner can be a very interesting place where a child can reflect. They are so adorable standing there that I just want to squeeze them. Such a cute write my friend. Love and hugs, Bonnie

Hahaha!!!!! Linda, you can make a story comes to life!!! This is so good!!!

This reminds me of the way I was. I wet my bed even when I was 7 years old. Didn't really take the thumb out of my mouth until I was about 9; and we always steal cookies that were underneath my grandmother's bed. What a riot that was!!!

And my mom made me stand against the wall for hours because she forgot all about me and went to sleep; but I always cheated anyway. When she fell asleep I went somewhere else, and just as I hear that she was going to wake up then I stood at the same spot again. Heeeheee!!!

Children sure make it fun, and intersting dont they but they do have minds of their own. I was helping care for a two year old little girl today, she kept me on toes, running off with my water bottle, and my purse LOL,,,
