Caleb McNamee, aged twelve, is still dealing with a lot of heartache in his young life.

Caleb here.  Caleb McNamee, aged twelve.

Still not doing great.  Not grounded anymore, but life still is the sch***, if you know what I mean.

Webbie, my baby brother, is still around; however, it seems that he can never shake off the cold he had.  Still coughing, congested, sounds terrible.  I'm scared he's going to end up getting pneumonia, which will only end up killing him.  So far, no calls to the local EMS, but I'm waiting for that big, white ambulance to show up at our front door in the middle of the night one of these days.

Ain't nothin' worse than being awakened by orange- and red- flashing lights in the middle of the night, then hearing noises going on down the hall, not knowing what's happening or what to expect.  That's the worst part in having a little brother who's sick all of the time.

I've been trying to get along better in school; however, the kids avoid me, like I have the plague or something.  I guess they feel that since Webbie has AIDS, then I must have it too.  They call me AIDS boy and stupid s***, and it really bugs the snot outta me!

If anything, I'm lookin' forward to Thanksgiving break next week.  Thanksgiving is a week from today; we will have a long weekend, which will be great.  That way, I can concentrate on my video games or stuff myself to the gills with turkey and all the trimmin's!  I can also watch football, sleep in, and maybe talk dad into a game of f-ball outside.

I just hope little Webbie doesn't do anything to ruin it for us.  Now, I know he can't help it when he gets sick, but I'd love to get through at least ONE holiday without him ending up in the hospital again!!

Well, I gotta get ready for school, grab some grub for breakfast, before I head out the door.  I will write in here again another time; until later, this is Caleb saying so long for now!

~Caleb. :(

Too sad to read and to sad to hear. No one should have to suffer these diseases especially children. Oh Karen this one is heartbreaking. Love and hugs, to you. Love, Bonnie

Today one wonders if needeing surgery and a pint of extra blood will be safe, one wonders if walking on the beach sands one will not get stabbed by an infected needle butied in the sand by a junkie, one wonders today.

Sad story indeed and more so knowing that ones so young must suffer for the sins of others.

Very sad, this letter ... blaming his brother for being sick is not the way to be. ("I just hope little Webbie doesn't do anything to ruin it for us. ... I'd love to get through at least ONE holiday without him ending up in the hospital again! ...." Well penned, Karen.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
