I mean, they put it straightforward: "Or you go with us to buy you jeans, or we will buy it without you".

Holidays.

Everybody buys presents to everybody.

I was asked by children and by wife, each time by somebody else, what I want to get as a present.

I am consistent in my answers.

Therefore, my answer was "nothing".

"Nothing - first time.

"Nothing - second time.

"Nothing - third time.

Sold.

I mean, they put it straightforward: "Or you go with us to buy you jeans, or we will buy it without you".

So, of course I agreed.

I like to choose things I wear.

I continued to grumble about buying other jeans, before the pair I have is very dead.

I like them. They saw so many important things in my life: My children birth, my first work in new company. My first refusal.

It is like betraying it.

However, my wife explained that patching this pair costs more than the new pair.

And it is so costly, because patching could be costly when you do it to the fourth degree of patching.

She took my beloved, put it inside out and showed that nothing from the original jeans remained.

Only patches.

So I reluctantly agreed.

I rubbed the wet skin near the left corner of the right eye when my wife threw my old jeans into garbage bin.

Made secrete movement with hand for farewell and went to the car.

I did not want to drive. I was sad.

.

In the shop, they took me straight to the trousers department.

-This trousers are nice.

-But we came to buy me jeans.

-That too.

-No, I mean just jeans.

-Do you want to make a spectacle here! (It's not me of course. Could you guess who was it?)

-But you said..

-So I said... Take those and try them. Wait, where are you going? Take those too. Wait, why don't you have some patience?

-Bring me them to the fitting room.

-Okey, but wait for me there.

So I tried on and tried of and on and of.

I looked at myself in the mirror and saw perspiration appearing on my forehead.

Then my shirt became sticky from the back.

Then I was out. I was doing everything like zombie.

I do not remember all the details.

Just near the cash when my wife asked me to pay.

-What? How much?

-Total is 420.

-What do you mean total?

-You bought 5 pieces and children bought something too.

-But they already have all their presents! Why did they need to buy some more cloth?

-It is not cloth - just some shirts and sweaters and slippers and…

-How many pieces?

-You do not want to know.

I raised my hands. Twice.

First in desperation, second with the card to make a payment.

I looked on what I took: three pairs of trousers without any jeans and three shirts.

-Wait, where are jeans?

-There was nothing suitable here.

-So I will take my jeans back from the garbage bin!

-No, you will not. You will go with trousers.

-But I like jeans.

-Then buy them yourselves. I did not come with you to by jeans.

-But… but..

I went out thinking about all those unnecessary things I bought.

I am not sure I will wear them.

So I went to another shop and bought a pair of new jeans.

I made a calculation in my head: All over, I spent 210 on myself.

I will live through it.

After all it is just about 60$.

Now it really sounds little.

Well I can afford it for myself.

I even do not need to cancel the order for the fourth camera, which I found just for 2210$.

Happy I returned home.

The only thing that put a cloud over my joy was a little argument with my wife, when I asked her to make some place for my new trousers.

In the end, I put them on the floor of the cabinet and went to see TV.

Shopping in your country is not different from mine. I took my grandson shopping last week... Said, "I want you to buy 2 pr pants/jeans, and 2-3 shirts, a belt, socks and underwear. I chose several pants...he shook head...no... then picked 2-3 pair that he preferred (almost exact as those I had) so then he kept looking at one shirt as if he liked it...then he looked at price tag...put it back...so he chose two others that were nice but less money...then I went to the original shirt he liked and said, I'd like you to buy that shirt... He said "too much $$" so I said...it's my gift so I can give you what I want... that was it.. Later when I'd spent more than I'd planned...he loaded his items in the car and said... I sure wish you had lots of money like before...when you could buy me those really nice expensive shoes .... and I just looked at him and said, "I wish you had a job....so you could buy me a nice card telling me you love me once in a while"....... Your story had humor, truth, and ended up as is the case....we buy what we want for ourselves in the end, while buying what everyone else wants at the same time.... hehe... cute story.. lindalaw
