Dear Journal~
Louisiana here. Sorry I haven't written; things have been crazy at best, particularly around the Sandusky abode. With the grandkids, other kids, being home, it's made for some pretty wild shenanigans! LOL
We did manage to get through Thanksgiving, though. Didn't have to go to the store to get four thirty-pound turkeys and all the fixin's; we let someone else do the cookin' for us. We went out to eat at Golden Corral; they were more than happy to feed us. It was a wonderful time!
After Golden Corral, we came home, where we let our bellies flop around, "stuffed" to the gills. We watched football (Dallas; they won; GO, COWBOYS!!), while the children napped or played. It was a most wonderful way to spend the day after stuffing ourselves. LOL
On Friday, we all went out early to the mall to continue (or finish) our Christmas shopping. I'm happy to say that we're about 98% done. Still have a little to shop for, but nothing major. Now I can concentrate on the cards, getting them out, between working, chasing kids. LOL
Yesterday we didn't do a darn thing, except enjoy each other's company. Anh's girlfriend (now fiancee'; he proposed to her on Thanskgiving Day; she said yes!) is a sweetie; they are very good to one another, and they make a cute couple, too, besides.
The grandkids are all getting big; it felt good to be able to hug, hold them after years of not being able to, due to my past back problems. Now that's history, so I have been making up for lost time: kissing them, hugging them, holding them, spoiling them!! LOL
They absolutely love it!!
I'm back at work (D'oh!!), trying to get back in the swing of things. Kind of hard to do so after a nice, "quiet" weekend off. (With our family, there's no such thing as "quiet"! LOL)
The kids know that Santa Claus will be coming in just twenty three days, so they are trying their utmost best to behave themselves. Somehow the smell of evergreen, the sight of twinkling lights, and the sounds of Christmas carols seem to have a calming effect on them, plus it helps seeing one of Santa's "elves" at the mall. They know that Christmas can't be far off, so they're doing their best to make my job as mother easier, which I greatly appreciate!
I love this time of year!! I wish it could be Christmas all year long!
Well, I am going to run; have to clock in in about five minutes, then start my shift (work today from seven to seven). I will write in here again, probably in a few days to a week, sooner if something happens, which it usually does.
