Santa Claus writes his yearly letter to the children of the world, to let them know he's thinking of them in the weeks prior to Christmas.

North Pole, December 1, 2008~

Dear Precious Children~

Ho, ho, ho!  It's your Christmastime Pal, Santa Claus (e.g., "Jolly St. Nick", "Father Christmas", "Pere Noel", etc.) writing.  I am writing to check up on you, to see if you have been good.  ('Cause if you haven't, you'd best be; Santa Claus is watching you!!)

I know quite a few of you are worried because the economy isn't good.  A lot of you are worried about your mommies and daddies (or even your grandparents).  You're worried because you're scared they won't have their jobs for much longer, or that they won't be able to get you anything for Christmas.

Well, I am here to assure you that I WILL get you something for Christmas.  I'm Santa Claus; and I believe strongly in Christmastime Magic!  You WILL have a Christmas, and I'll make sure it will be the best one you've ever had!

As for those Children who are facing hard times (illness, death, tragedy), I am sorry you are going through these sad moments.  I wish I could take away some of your pain, sadness, tears.  It would do my heart proud to see a smile upon your grief-stricken, tear-stained faces; nobody should ever be sad on Christmas!!  I will do all I possibly can to make your lives just a little bit brighter, your Christmas just a little bit merrier!

And I will be praying for you.  Yes, Santa Claus prays.  I pray that the love of Christ will spread into your hearts, and that you share that love with everyone you meet!

I will pray that your sadness will go away and that the days ahead will be full of joy, peace, and love!

For those children who are starving or don't have enough, I have been working on this, too.  I have some magical elves who will see to it that you get the clothing, food, medicine you need to get through another day; ol' Santa Claus hasn't forgotten about you, nor will he EVER do so!  I wish I could personally take away your struggles; you deserve much better in your lives; you deserve to be happy!

I will be praying for those children who are handicapped.  I pray that people learn to love you and/or accept you as you are.  You are beautiful to me; your disabilities, no matter how obvious they may happen to be, don't matter.  It would do me proud to see Tommy or Johnny be able to rise from their wheelchairs, or Ronee', Tina, or Ricardo to throw down their crutches and take their first attempts at walking without help!

I wish Mario, Edythe, Rosemary, or Granger could hear/talk, and I wish that Jodie, Todd, Nashi, or Nicholas could wrap their arms around their mommies' necks and tell them how much they love them!  Nothing makes me sadder than to see a child who can't do anything for themselves; however it is good to know that they have families who care for them, love them,  no matter how disabled they are!  I will make sure and certain that I will leave something very special for you all; you deserve it!!

Not many people can take care of severely disabled children; if anything, families who do so deserve a medal, or at least, a special place in Heaven!!

For those children who face abuse/violence in their lives, or parents who drink, take drugs, I wish nothing more than peace, harmony come to you.  I pray your parents realize what they are doing and get the help they so deseperately need; children shouldn't have to witness such violence, fear, or sadness!  Their parents don't know what they are doing, and it breaks my heart to know that they are only making things worse, not only for them, but for the children!  I pray your parents come to their senses and get the help they need before it is too late!

I wish those who have lost a brother or sister (for whatever reason) may find that I care for them.  I wish I could bring Rachel, Helissah, Raun, Trevor, Perfecto, or Vito back to life, give them back, so you could be copmlete families again; however, I can't, as much as that pains me.  You can, however, remember them when they were alive, reemmber the good times, and thank God that you were able to parent them, even if for a short time.  I know Christmas is the worst time for you; I wish nothing but Christ's love, comfort, and peace to come into your lives and know that He is with you, always.  He will never leave or abandon you; He loves you that much, and He cares!

I even care, and if I could wipe your tears away, believe me, I would!

Well, the reindeer are hungry, so I must tend to them.  I also have to exercise them, make sure they are in fine shape prior to the Big Journey in just a few weeks.  Until then, be good, and know I WILL be stopping by!  God bless you too, and never forget the Reason for the Season!  Just trust in Him and BELIEVE.  And never forget for a minute that Santa loves you too!

May you all have the Merriest of Christmases EVER!!

~With Christmas Love, your Friend, Santa Claus.  :)  X0X0X0X0X0X0

Karen,

Beautifully compassionate write; if we, the readers of this delightful, poignant story could reach out and help Santa make wishes come true, then it would be truly magical, indeed. Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
