Ya'sou! Nikolas Constantinos here. Hope you are well; I couldn't be any better!
At 1:45 this morning, my beautiful wife, Sari Annike, birthed our newest child (and our second daughter), whom we have named Ilsa (named after her friend, Ilsa Rekkonen) Magdalina (named after my mother). She is absolutely beautiful!
I am happy to report that both mother and child are doing great. Baby is healthy, with ten fingers, ten toes, nothing missing; looks just like her mamma and big sister, Birtta. Mamma, meanwhile, continues to snooze away in bed; they had to do a C-section on her because baby's shoulders were too wide for mamma's birth canal. Baby weighed nearly 11 1/2 pounds; big girl!!
Takes after the Greek side. My side. All us Constantinos kids were big as babies, whereas my wife's family were all rather small (or delicate) at birth.
I am sure Mamma Sari will sleep a good portion of the day. Which is just as well; she needs to rest. With her fibromyalgia, other health issues, she hasn't slept all that much; she's past the point of exhaustion!
I just hope that when Sari does awaken, she's not in too much pain. If she is, I'll have Dr. Admunsen give her something for the pain, discomfort.
In any event, she will probably be loopy headed. (I'd like to know what they put in her IV; the last time she gave birth to our son Erick over a year ago, she was higher than a kite. Kept singing off key and laughing. It was pretty funny! LOL)
Weather here has been cold: typical winter weather here in the far north, quite unlike the milder climes of my native Greece. That's okay for Sari; she's a northern girl; it's what she's used to. It's starting to look a lot like Christmas; lots of lights, Christmas to be found everywhere; soon Joulupukki (Santa in Finnish; it's what he's called around here) will be visiting all the good little children, including our little ones, Erick and Birtta. They have been very good; they will surely get a bounty of gifts come Christmas morn!
The northern lights have been performing their magic dance in the arctic sky; it's as if they knew our babe was coming soon, and so they dance with joy, as only they can do. We shall introduce our newest child to the magic of Aurora, as we have with our two older children. The norhern lights are as familiar to them as cookies, milk, and cereal. :)
Well, I will go now; Sari is stirring. I will write in here again soon; until later, this is Nikolas saying Nakemiin, as my wife would say!
