Dear Journal~
Katrina (Kat) here. Sorry for not writing; Junior's kept me on my toes; don't sleep much. Case in point; notice the time of this entry. *YAWN*
Haven't realized just how much work a little baby entails. Whee! LOL
Baby wakes up to be fed. Diapered. Loved. Cuddled. Every few hours this happens, all hours of the day, day and night. Thank God Frank has taken time off from his job (with pay) so he can help me when I need it the most!
Our son is so cute! He looks just like me, but with Frank's bald head. LOL I enjoy watching him looking at the world around him: he gets this puzzled look on his little face, and his eyes turn golfball size as he looks about him. It's really adorable!
I'm not so sure our kitties enjoy this new "addition", though: "Aurora", our Norwegian Forest, and our new Ragdoll kitten, "Obie", keep going towards his crib, trying to investigate him out; they're not used to him yet. When he cries or squeaks, they look at us, just as puzzled, with looks that say, "Mama, why you bring this thing home?? He's bald as a rock, and he's too noisy!" LOL It's hilarious!!
Yes, we have a new kitty. "Aurora" has a new playmate. We've had "Obie" for about two weeks now; he's finally gotten used to his new digs, his new playmate, and they've since become the best of (furry) friends. We got him from a friend who breeds Ragdolls; she insisted our cat get a playmate.
"Obie" doesn't make much in the way of noise (meow-wise); but he sure makes up for it in energy level! He's always playing, ever curious, and he has this habit of lying limply in your arms or lap whenever he wants a good scratching or belly rub. He's totally relaxed, just purring his little head off! LOL
We don't have our Christmas decorations up just yet; we're kind of hesitant to put them up, for fear the kitties will destroy (or eat) some of them. Kitties and Christmas decorations can make for tragedy or destruction if one isn't vigilent; one has to be so careful! We may put some up, but not a lot, just so we can keep our pets safe.
(Baby is too little; he's not even two weeks old yet. We don't have to worry about him getting into the Christmas stuff just yet, but am sure we will in the future, when he's older.)
Have heard that our friend Jenna's friend, Sikik Eegeesiak, died a few weeks ago. She had MS and other health problems; her MS was the progressive, fatal kind. She was only in her forties, far too young. A tragedy; I will have to say a prayer for her brother, Mattaq, and the rest of her family, as they face this holiday season without their sister; it must be devastatingly hard for them!
I've met Sikik only a few times (or DID!); she was quiet, but sweet. She looked more like a child; she wasn't even four and a half foot tall. I was a good foot taller than her!
Got a beautiful Christmas card from Louie yesterday; she sent us the family's latest picture, as well as some individual shots of the kids. They're doing fantastic! They're getting ready for the Christmas Cantata at their church, and Ronee' is now driving! Seems hard to believe that the kids are growing up! And the twins are now a year old, and into everything, she says. And Johnny continues to amaze doctors with his will to live; he's busy helping out with the deaf members of his church, enjoying it, even with all his own medical issues.
Well, Junior's squeaking again; I'm sure the wailing will soon follow. So before he wakes up Frank, I will tend to the little fellow, plus Obie is meowing to be fed. I will write in here again, hopefully before Christmas. Take care and may God bless you always, especially during this Christmas season!
~Love, your friend, Kat. :D
Here's a piccy of "Obie"; enjoy!
