Louisiana reflects on life and on the quickly approaching Christmas holiday season.

Sunday, December 7, 3008, Nashville, TN, 6:37 p.m., C.S.T.~

Dear Journal~

How are you this chilly Sunday evening?  I hope all is well with you!

Louie here.  We're not at church tonight because hubby-dear has a bad cold, and it's triggering his asthma.  I hope he doesn't have to go to the ER; when he coughs, it sounds terrible!

I think he caught it yesterday.  We went to our city's annual Parade of Lights celebration/Lighting of the Christmas Tree, and I think he caught a chill.  I will have to pray for him, pray he doesn't end up going to the hospital!

Hubby-dear is in bed, bundled up; he looks pitiful.  I'm making the kids stay away from him, so they don't get sick; if there's one thing I don't need for Christmas, it's a passel of sick kids to take care of!!

Last night was fun.  We were in the parade, and most of us rode on floats.  Gemini marched with the high school band; actually, she twirled her twin batons, did a marvelous job.  She's really good at that sort of thing; I'd try it, and I'd stab someone with the batons! LOL

Or hit someone!  LOLOLOL

After the parade, we went to where the tree was to be lit up.  There was musical entertainment going on.  Johnny sang, as did Ronee':  Ronee' sang "O Holy Night" and Johnny signed; Johnny also sang "Let There Be Peace On Earth"; both did a super job!  Our church choir also sang, and we sang two songs:  "Joy To The World" and "The Hallelujah Chorus".

We watched the singers/dancers from five to seven; then the parade at seven sharp; then the tree lighting/fireworks to culminate the evening.  Lots of people came; it was wall to wall people at times!

Santa even made an appearance, both in the parade and at the tree lighting.  He then spent time listening to the little children whisper their Christmas wishes to him; he was glad to oblige!

Didn't see Rudolph or his sleigh; maybe he parked them down the block!  LOL

The fireworks were spectacular; they lasted a good fifteen/twenty minutes.  By the time the last firework burst, my ears were ringing; and poor Bill was shivering with cold.  That's when I bundled the family (and Bill) and made our way to the van, where we quickly headed home.

Bill was feeling pretty bad this morning, so we didn't go to church.  And Ronee' was up most of the night on the computer, so she didn't go either; none of us did.  It was just a quiet, (semi) relaxing Sunday at home, with no phone calls or knocks at the door.

Haven't had one of those in a while.  LOL

The kids stayed quiet; they know their daddy's sick, so they are trying to let him rest.  I appreciate that.

Well, two years ago today, two of my kids were sick and in the hospital.  Johnny went in for three weeks; Ronee', for a week.  Ronee' had a flare up of her JRA, and Johnny had a spell with his heart.  It made for some pretty anxious moments; but I am happy to say all turned out well.  They haven't really had any problems until early this year, when they had surgery; and both have been doing fantastic ever since.  They are indeed blessed, and so am I!

I pray this continues!  This has been the best year, healthwise, for our family in a very long time!

Well, I am going to get back to the twins, then continue with my Christmas cookie baking.  I will write in here again in a few days or a week, depending on how things go.  Just keep Bill in your prayers; pray he gets over his cold!  He'd appreciate it, and so would I!

Take care and may God bless you mightily, especially this holiday season!  Never forget why we celebrate Christmas!

Jesus is the Reason for the Season!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tennessee, Louie May. :D
