Bill wishes his friends a very merry Christmas and lets them know how he and his family is doing during the long holiday period.

Weds., December 24, 2008, 10:24 a.m., C.S.T., Nashville, Tennessee~

Dear Journal~

Bill Sandusky here.  Hope you are having a wonderful holiday season!  Let me be among the first to wish y'all a very mery Christmas and a happy, healthy, prosperous New Year!

Unfortunately, it turns out that Ronee' has a bad cold.  Yep, she got a cold for Christmas, the poor kid!  She woke up with a bad head/chest cold.  She's coughing and sneezing, and she sounds like a croaking frog.  Guess that means she won't be participating in the church Cantata tonight.  She's in no condition to sing.  She has been singing for the past several weekends; maybe this is God's way of telling her to rest.

Bah humbug!  What a way to spend your birthday (or Christmas):  sick in bed!  Bummer!!

Just as long as the other children don't catch Ronee' 's cold germs, we'll be extremely happy!  The last thing we need for the New Year is a house full of sick, sneezing, crying kids!

Well, there is one good thing in all this:  nobody's in the hospital.  THAT we can be extremely grateful for!! :)

Lightning, Dwerlina, Steffi, and Anh (plus Anh's girlfriend, Thu) are here, spending the holiday with us.  We are glad to have them here; we miss them terribly when they are gone!

The grandchildren are all getting bigger each time we see them:  seems like they were small, helpless babies in their mothers' arms; now they're crawling, walking, even talking!

Our oldest grandchild, Jamee Nichelle, is adapting to life in a wheelchair; she still exhibits the same sparkling personality she's always had.  She's just like her mama in that regard!  (Jamee has muscular dystrophy.  She was diagnosed with it about two years ago.)  We are very proud of her!

Danny, Jamee's little brother, is sporting a nice, bright-blue cast on his arm:  he broke it while diving off the couch in their livingroom; he was pretending to be Superman.  It was a bad break:  he broke it in three places, even had to have surgery.  He'll be in this cast for the next several months.  Guess little Danny now knows that little boys cannot fly!  :/

Today we got a Christmas card from Amuko, the little boy we are sponsoring through Christian Children's Fund.  He wrote us a letter and sent us a picture of him with his classmates.  The letter he wrote was very heartwarming; it caused tears to prick at our eyes.  It was beautiful!

Johnathon had a seizure yesterday afternoon; thank God it wasn't serious:  it was over in about two minutes.  It did, however, wipe him out; Johnathon's still in bed, sleeping the effects of it off.  Whenever Johnny has a seizure, he can sleep as much as 10-20 hours (give or take a few).  His color is good, his breathing is nice and even, and his pulse is strong, so we don't have anything to worry about, thanks to be God! :)

Louisiana is at work: she works until seven o'clock tonight.  Then she's off tomorrow and Friday, works the weekend (Saturday and Sunday), and also works Monday through Wednesday.  She's off New Year's Day and the day after.  Meanwhile, I'm playing the role of "Mr. Mom".  Thank God I have the extra help in Steffi, Anh, Thu, and Dwerlina!  I need all the help I can possibly get!!

We are going to stay home, have Christmas dinner here.  On Thanksgiving, we went out to eat; this time we decided to stay home.  We are going to have a relatively quiet Christmas (if you can call noisy toys or screaming, squealing children quiet, as they enjoy their new Christmas gifts).

The weather here is cold, but the nasty weather's moved on.  We have at least four inches of snow left on the ground; underneath, there's still a half inch of ice.  Not the best of driving/walking conditions.  So it's best to stay in.

At least it's not frigid-cold, like it is in the Upper Midwest!  I like cold, mind  you, but the frigid stuff absolutely plays havoc with my arthritic old body!

Well, Ronee' is calling me (as best as she can), so I must see what she needs.  I will go now; I will write in here again soon.  Until later, this is Bill signing off.  May y'all have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!  God bless you all mightily!

~Bill.  :)

Sorry Ronee's not well, maybe she will be pampered through the holidays. It will be quiet here at the Rideout house as my son, and family went to Nova Scotia for Christmas. We still have one son and daughter home for dinner. Have a wonderful Christmas.

Newfie Hugs are on the way, Rose

"We're going to have a relatively quiet Christmas ..." In THAT household? I don't THINK so! Sixty three? Five? (I'm losing count!!) kids squealing over discovered presents does not a serene scene make (plus one sneezing and snotting all over the where). LOL Well done, Karen, ChristmasChaos at the Sandusky home must be a sight to see!

(((HUGS))) and love, and Merry Christmas!, Karla.
