January 1, 2009 (Happy New Year!!!!)~

Dear Journal~

Hey!  It's me, Sagie!  How you doing?  I'm doin'; can't sleep, so I decided to write in here.

Just got back from church; we had an all-nighter New Year's Eve bash, and I went to it, as did my aunt, uncle.  Now they're crashed out in their beds, and I'm like wide awake! 

I'm also bored.  Which is why I'm writing in this, my journal.  Have nothing better to do.

I could go skiing with my friends, but no go.  My friends are probably sleepin' by now; maybe later I can still get some skiing in.  Weather's pretty:  clear, star-lit skies (complete with a crescent moon, and Venus shinin' bright next to it; it's called a conjunction, and it's something that doesn't happen very often).  Once in a while, a meteor will flash against the sky, catchin' me in a momentary glimpse of surprise, as I don't expect it.

Still lookin' for work:  nothin' yet.  I am not giving up hope, however; there's gotta be something I can do!  I just can't work on weekdays:  school obligations.  I can only work weekends or nights.  I was hopin' I'd get something for Christmas, in terms of employment, but no go. 

Speakin' of Christmas, the Cantata went well.  I didn't mess up on my solo of "O, Holy Night".  I was soooo glad when it was over; I was sooo nervous!!  First time I really sang a solo, a totally new experience for me.

I got lots of nice things for Christmas:  clothes, money, pens, paper, a new laptop (my big gift!), perfume, lotions, soaps, gift certificates to different restaurants, stores, and jewelry.  Nothin' to complain about; I did good! :)

Now it's a whole new year, and I'm wondering what this  year will bring.  I know peace isn't being observed:  the Hamas are fighting the Isrealis, and there was a deadly night club fire in Bangkok, Thailand, I believe?  (Not so sure where this happened, but I heard about it last night on CNN.)

I fear for our country, but I am glad that Obama is in office (or will be later this month)!  Maybe he can straighten up the mucky mess that Bush left our nation in for the past eight years!  All I can do is pray, hope, believe!

And he IS kinda' cute!  :)  LOL

Don't tell my aunt I said that; she'd have a COW!!!! LOLOLOLOLOL

My aunt Reba, she's a staunch Republican.  Her husband, meanwhile, is Democratic, but he does have some Republic leanings.  Me, I'm pure-t Democrat.  So we have the best of both worlds in my family! 

We go back to school on Monday of this coming week.  I have been having a ball being off for the past two weeks for Christmas break.  Have gotten some serious skiing in, also got into a rock-em, sock-em snowball fight with some of the neighbors on Christmas night; it was hiLARious!!  It was the best Chrissie I'd had in a long time; it felt good to let go, laugh!

I have a new penfriend; she lives in Perth, Australia.  Name's Mickey; where she's at it's summer.  It's really strange.  It's hot now Down Under while here we've got cold, snow.  I don't think I could get used to celebrating Christmas on a day where it's something like 95 degrees or spending it on a sandy beach.  That would feel so wrong to me!!

I bet she'd freeze her Aussie butt if she were here visitin' ME in Colorado!  She's probably never seen snow, exceptin' on tv or in books!

Well, I'm gettin' stupid, so I'd best mosey along now.  I am going to go beddy-bye; am gettin' awful' sleepy all of a sudden!  *YAWNNN*  I will write in here soon; until later, this is Sage McDermott saying Peace Out!  I'm outta here!  Good night!
