January 1, 2009:
Happy New Year!! Hope you're having a good one!
Me, I'm sittin' in my bedroom, listening to my parents yelling. No, not at me or at each other: they're watching those stupid football games again. Bowl Day. There's just something about football and New Year's that go hand in hand. Meanwhile, I'm bored, with nobody to keep me company except these four walls (not to mention, my new computer).
This is Casey Dawn Hackberry, in case you haven't figured that out by now. I'm the one with cherubism. I try to be a normal kid, but sometimes it's hard when people keep paying attention to my face instead of getting to know the real me. I find that very annoying!!
It's too cold to do anything outside (temps in the minus zero category with dangerous windchills); it feels more like northern ALASKA than Green Bay, Wisconsin!! BRR!! I don't do cold; it makes my face hurt, and then I'm miserable! That cold air cuts through me like a knife, and I'm dying!!
Give me warm sunshine and seventy degrees any day!
Now why couldn't I live in a place like Florida??
I watched the Orange Bowl Parade this morning, and it was bright sunshine-y out there. Here it's snowing, windy, miserable; not fit for man nor beast!
This is when I wish I had a fat, furry Maine Coon cat like my friend Treva does; her cat sleeps with her every night, and she says he's like a big, warm blanket!
I'd love it!
Don't know when it's supposed to warm up any; according to the long range weather forecast we're to be in this deep freeze for a while yet. *Groan*
I can't wait until it gets to twenty degrees! Twenty degrees isn't warm by a long shot, but it sure does sound nice compared to FIVE BELOW!!!!
I had a nice Christmas. I got this laptop computer, money, paper, new books (JK Rowling's new one, also got one called "It's Only Temporary" by Sally Warner), clothes, underwear, socks, shoes, scented body wash from Bath-And-Body-Works, and new earrings.
I wouldn't mind getting a brother or a sister next Christmas. That, or a furry, warm kitten or puppy!
This being a sole kid bites: when I get into trouble, I can't blame anyone; I'm stone-cold busted, and that stinks!
Like the time I put a frozen rubber snake in my cousin's bed when she came to spend the weekend with me. Oooh, but did I get into trooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuble for THAT one! My cousin still won't let me live it down, and she doesn't trust me sometimes when I get into one of my jokey moods!
I don't blame her, but that happened four years ago, when I was six. I've grown up since then.
Well, mama's calling me, so I'll go for now. Think she wants me to get daddy another beer. Take care, this is Casey Hackberry signing off! I will write in here again! So long!
~Love, your friend, Casey Dawn. :)
