Ronee' is recovering from a recent bad fall that put her into the hospital overnight. (She suffered a concussion.)

Friday, January 23, 2009, Nashville, TN., 10:15 a.m.~

Dear Journal~

Ronee' here.  I hope this finds y'all well.  Me, I'm afraid I'm not feeling my best.  My face still looks like hell, and I still have the headache from my fall of a few days ago.

The fall was bad enough to put me into the hospital for overnight's observation.  Knocked myself slap out.  Ended up with a swollen mug, blackened eyes (my eyes are already black; they're only more so! :P), a big goose egg on my forehead, and a killer headache.

What actually happened was this:  I was at school, walking by some kids who were playing basketball, and a kid accidentally hit me in the face with the basketball when it got away from him.  It happened so fast:  one minute, I was walking, minding my own beeswax, and the next:  nothing.  Just blackness.

When I woke up, I was in the hospital, in the E.R., doctors and nurses bending over me, worried looks on their faces.

I ended up with a concussion (brain bounced around like jello in my skull), a badly bruised face, two blackened, bloodshot eyes, and a nasty headache.  Let's face it:  I look like I went around with Muhammed Ali--and lost.  Big time!

I didn't go to school at all Tuesday (spent part of it in the hospital, until they sprung me outta there), and Wednesday, I went back, but couldn't concentrate, as my head was still hurtin' bad, so I went home early.  Slept a good part of Tuesday; the meds they gave me for my headache messed with my head, made me very sleepy, sluggish.

Still don't feel quite right; feeling better, but not there yet.

I'm just glad I didn't end up with a subdural hemotoma or brain damage!  That could have happened, you know; I'm just thankful I didn't go that route.  It could have been a lot worse than it was, although when people see my face, it seems to tell a totally different story altogether.

Thursday, I stayed at school all day, but I wasn't in the mood because everyone kept commenting on my face, and I felt uncomfortable.  No kidding.  They're the ones who don't have to live with it!!  I know the swelling/blackness will eventually go away in time, but I look evil right now, and I am not fit for sore eyes!!

I look terrible!  I look like a Frankenstein Monster!!

I haven't driven or gone anywhere since my accident.  Maman and daddy won't let me until they make sure I'm all over this concussion.  I'm grounded from going anywhere except to school, which bites.  Oh, I can have friends over, but I can't go to their houses until I heal some more.

Well, my head (and sinuses) is (are) killing me again, so I am going to go to the nurse's, see if I can lie down and sleep some more.  I am going to stop writing until another day.  I will write again soon; take care, and may God bless you!  Just say a prayer for me, pray that God takes the pain/swelling away!  I would really appreciate it!  Thanks loads!

(((HUGS))) and much love,  your friend, Muhammed Ali, Jr. (Ronee' Le-Anne).  :(

There are children going around like one accident to happen, why they are prone to mishaps nobody can say, and saying be careful sounds so lame as we know that it is not a matter of watching out.
