Dear Journal~
Louie here. I am home from work; thank God I got home in one piece!
Work was dead today; only had one patient in MICU; he's doing much better, and there's enough help there, so I was sent home early. I usually get off at six/seven.
Took me twenty five minutes to get home; it usually takes me 10 minutes. Cars all over; even saw some cars spin out, hit the retaining wall on I-65. I nearly got sideswiped by a HUMMER; thank God the HUMMER missed me!
It was another ten minutes for me to try to get up my driveway. This is when I wish I had chains on my vehicle, or better working four-wheel drive. (Have to take my van in to the dealer next time I'm off, see if they can do something about it.)
Kids are home from school; their classes were cancelled for the day for the inclimate weather. May be cancelled again tomorrow; you see, we're expecting snow (heavy snow at that) tomorrow here in Music City USA.
Bill is at Wal*Mart; he may be coming early today, too. I pray he gets home safe and sound! I just hope he doesn't fall trying to get out of the car and trying to get to the house!
He doesn't need to fall; don't want him unhinging what the doctors fixed last year!!
I am happy to say that Johnny is feeling better from his flu; he feels more like himself. Thank God the other kids haven't had it; it's only by a miracle that they didn't catch what he had!
Ronee' 's eyes are back to normal; still a little black, but nothing to what they were, much to her relief. The headache is gone, too. She looks more like herself.
I have had my eyes glued to the TV (Weather Channel), and to our local news, to get the latest informaton regarding the ice storm/winter weather warnings currently in effect. I want to be informed; I want to see if I can see Bill's orange bug on the television; that way, I'd know he was on his way home from work.
Just as long as I don't see that Bug spinning out or wrecked up, I'll be happy. I've been praying like crazy!
This ice storm goes from Texas clear up to Ohio, with snow, sleet, freezing rain, and even thunderstorms involved. So a lot of people are getting affected, not just us.
Well, I am going to let you go; hear Bill's Bug coming up the drive. Thank God he's home safe and sound!! I will have to help him up the drive, so he doesn't bust his butt! Ice and crutches do NOT mix!
