I am not a twin, per say, but I have several sisters (and one broher) who ARE twins. In MY family there are several sets of twins:
Camey and Tammi (11);
Sunshine Lee and Andre' (6);
Loueva and LaVella (7);
Elise and Louise (9).
I also have another sister, Ronee' (9), who is a twin, but HER twin lives with another family (although her sister DOES come here quite often; they are often together).
I think being a twin would be interesting..after all, twins seem to have a bond that is stronger than the bond between non-twin brothers and sisters. They are (usually) quite close, and they (usually) get along quite well. Twins also have a "sixth sense" about certain things, like how each other is feeling, or the fact that they seem to know what each other is thinking. They also have a tendency to talk about things at the same time (quite often twins will often answer in unison!!). Or they will frequently interrupt each other, as though they are competing for their turn to talk. It is really funny to hear them talk at the same time!
Twins are also quite similar (especially if they are identical twins, as Camey and Tammi are; they look EXACTLY alike, except that Camey wears her hair parted on the right-hand side, and Tammi wears hers parted on the left), but even despite the similarities between twins, twins are often quite different, even if they happen to look alike. For example, take Robyn and Ronee': Robyn is into rock music while Ronee' loves country/western and Cajun music. Camey is into horses, and her twin sister is more into dogs. And take their favorites in foods: Robyn loves pizza, artichokes, and liver, and Ronee' loves Cajun boiled crawfish, ice cream (strawberry is her favorite), and steak and irio (an African dish).
It is fascinating to watch twins in action, especially if they are dressed similarly or alike. People are always fascinated by twins, and each time they see a pair of twins (no matter if they are kids or grown), they are always gravitating to them and saying things like, "Ohh, look!! TWINS!!", like they are something special (which they probably are). They always seem to get a lot of extra attention, and frankly, it makes me a little bit jealous, because I wish they could pay as much attention to ME.
I AM a twin; these feelings that the girl in this story is feeling is very common among those who don't know the joys (or frustrations) of being a twin; and also the feelings or experiences that twins regularly share. I wouldn't trade my twin sister for ANYTHING; she is my life, and I will FIGHT to defend her!! Anyone who dares to hurt her in any way will have to deal with ME first!!
