Milton Eddeston copes with freezing temperatures, school bullies, and a little brother who drives him up the wall.

It seems that winter has really gripped a good portion of the country, particularly here in the northern/midwestern climes.

We got hit with an ice storm over the weekend; now we're under blizzard warnings.  Even with the bad weather, we still have to go outside, do our chores, take care of the piggies, bossies, and other farm animals we raise.  Our chores come first, whether it is sunshiney, rainy, snowy, sleety, icy, or hailing outside.

It's a pain; the wind cuts through you like knives, and the snow stings as it hits you.  It isn't long before we feel like human popsicles.  I'm never so glad to get into the house; that way, I can sit by the pot-belly stove and thaw out!

Because of the bad weather, I haven't been in school since last week; it's been since last Tuesday since I last set foot into my school.  Which is just as well; I'm happiest being home; that way, I don't have to put up with the other kids haranging me.

The only bad thing is this:  dealing with Haney, my bratty autistic brother.  No matter how many times you tell him not to do something, he does it anyway.  He just does not know the meaning of the word "No"!  He's a big pain in my ass; I can't stand him at times!!

If I could ship him off somewhere (say, Siberia), I'd be a lot better off!

So far, the pigs, cows, and horses have fared the wintery blast; we lost some pigs last year; I pray we don't have a repeat.  Yes, it may mean more food for us in the long run, but I hate dealing with dead animals, especially when I have to gut them, cut them up.  That's beyond gross!!

Between taking care of the animals and doing my normal household duties, I have been in the livingroom, watching Chiller.  I love that channel; they have some great shows on there!  They have one of my favorites on there:  "Tales From The Crypt".  I love the host; he's cool!  (The host is a scraggy looking skeleton with a funny sounding, creepy voice.)

I've also been watching Qubo, only because my little brother loves that channel.  It's for little kids; some of the shows on there are stupid, but there are some good ones, too (Babar, Rupert).  The other ones are too babyish for my tastes.  Whenever we have Qubo on, Haney is all attentive; he will sit for hours, rocking back and forth, as he watches the shows.  At least he's quiet then; I just wish he was like that the rest of the time!

Well, it's about four here; nearly time to feed the animals again.  *Groan!*  I will write in here again; pray the weather breaks soon; I'm ready to get outside again!  I'm becoming moldy from this cabin fever!!  Stupid weather!!

Take care, so long for now!

~Milton G. Eddeston ("Pig-Boy").  :(

With a little imagination you could have a better time. Life in a farm isn't that bad as you think. On my Grandpa farm, long long ago, wasn't radio (what's that grandpa?) television wasn't invented, Nintendo just science-fiction...you get the drift? but we found plenty to do, even in winter with a cold! so, Milton, quit complaining and see to get better, you hear me?! ! !

I am grateful we live in Cali, but it has been pretty cold here as well! I used to want to live on a farm, but I was six or seven at the time LOL, now just give me a house in the foothills and I'll be happy LOL

Poor Milton, stuck inside, yet having to do chores: a farmer's work is never done. Well done.
