“Your Self,” she replied.

“I am standing here, talking to myself? So I was right, this is a split personality!” I was angry at myself for hoping it was more.

She laughed. “I suppose that in a way I am a split personality…I certainly feel as if we are split–and miles apart at that.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Was she intending to insult me, or what it a mere talent?

“When I say I am your Self, I do not mean I am another part of your personality, of Kareel,” she said. “I mean that I am your Self, your Higher Self.”

Silence.

“My Higher Self?” I finally managed to ask.

“Aha.”

“Sorry..I’m a bit confused here.”

“It really is quite simple,” she began. “You are your personality self, the role that you play in this Earth lifetime. I am your Higher Self, the Soul part of you, the part that holds all the knowledge gained of many many lifetimes. Think of me being the full glass of water and you being a single drop of water within that glass full.”

“So us my glass half full or half empty?” Heaven help me I couldn’t stop the words from falling out of my mouth!

“I would say it’s a full glass.” I guess she didn’t ‘get’ the joke.

“And we are talking now? Why? What’s changed?”

“Timing,” she said. “We have, in fact, spent a great deal of time communicating, but it has mostly been done while your body was asleep at night.”

“I don’t remember,” I said–wishing I did!

“It doesn’t matter,” she assured me. “But from now on we will be having a very conscious communication.”
