Hey! It's me, Kat! I am so keyed up about last night I can't sleep a wink!!
Last night, Frank took me out to eat, then he surprised me with tickets to the BeauSoleil show at the University of Fairbanks! When he told me the news, I about DIED!!
Turns out he'd gotten the tickets the day they went on sale, but he didn't say a WORD!! Sneaky of him!! LOL
BeauSoleil happens to be my very favorite Cajun music band in the whole wide world! I've loved them for years; I'd never seen them, wanted to, but never got that chance. I do have just about all their CDS, and they are the best Cajun band in the world!
They are so good, in fact, they've won Grammys!!
Anyway, we got to the university about six last night. From what I could see, there looked like there was going to be a good turnout. Many people came. The show was about two hours long, and the music took me back to Louisiana, if only in my mind. I couldn't stop smiling, and I wanted to dance so bad I couldn't stand it!!
If I could have gotten out of my chair, believe me, I would have!!
And here's the best part: afterwards, there was a "meet-and-greet", and I got to meet them!! Oh, they were all so nice, especially Michael Doucet, the lead singer/fiddle player, and Jimmy Breaux, the accordionist! I got their autographs, even had my picture taken with them!!
I was like a little girl! Even my son, Junior, got to meet them; he just looked at them like, "Who you?" It was so cute! LOL At least he didn't cry or spit up on them; that would have been embarrassing! LOL
It was a Cajun music fan's dream come true !!
It felt so good to get out of the house and do something besides going to doctor's appointments or physical therapy!! I actually got to do something fun for once!!
Well, this isn't much, but I just hadda tell you about the show last night! I don't think I'll forget it as long as I live and breathe! I actually got to see and meet my favorite Cajun music band in the whole wide world!!!!!
