I wrote this from the questions I heard this small child asking. It broke my heart.

A LITTLE FELLOW’S PLEA

I’m just a little fellow.

Trying to make my way through life.

I’m just a little fellow.

Today I turned just six.

I’m just a little fellow.

Who trust in the this big world.

I’m just a little fellow.

Who has known nothing but hurt.

I’m just a little fellow.

That listens to the news.

I’m just a little fellow.

Who’s frightened through and through.

I’m just a little fellow.

Who hears about the wars,

I’m just a little fellow.

Why am I so ignored.

I’m just a little fellow.

Who hears of guns and bombs.

I’m just a little fellow.

Who wants it all explained.

I’m just a little fellow.

My daddy’s not at home.

I’m just a little fellow.

Who waits for him to come.

I’m just a little fellow.

My mother cried today.

I’m just a little fellow.

She said my daddy’s gone to heaven.

I’m just a little fellow.

I don’t understand these things.

I’m just a little fellow.

Whose daddy went to war.

I’m just a little fellow.

Please explain all this to me.

I’m just a little fellow.

Why can’t there just be peace.

I’m just a little fellow.

Whose daddy will never play ball with me.

I’m just a little fellow.

Whose daddy will never fish with me.

I’m just a little fellow.

I want my daddy back.

I’m just a little fellow.

I cry myself to sleep.

I’m just a little fellow.

Why am I so ignored.

I’m just a little fellow.

Please send the daddy’s home from war.

I’m just a little fellow.

But I’ll try to be real grown.

I’m just a little fellow.

Who will salute the flag.

I’m just a little fellow.

Today I just turned six.

I’m just a little fellow.

Who needs his daddy home.

I’m just a little fellow.

Why am I so ignored.

I’m just a little fellow.

Please explain this all to me.

I’m just a little fellow.

But one day I will be grown.

I’m just a little fellow.

Who one day will bring the daddy’s home.
