Nathan Lake is finally able to write in his journal since having eye surgery a few weeks back.

Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009~

Nathan here.  Hope this finds you well!

I'm doing a lot better; since finding out that I can still see, I have been in a much better frame of mind.  I recently had eye surgery; turns out some muscles needed tightening; this was what was affecting my vision.  Somehow they loosened up.

I was so scared:  for a minute, I thought I was going blind.  Then I had the surgery (they knocked me out for the procedure; it only lasted about an hour, mom said, but I didn't know a thing until I woke up later that day!), and I still couldn't see:  bandages.

It was horrible!  I couldn't do anything with the bandages on my face; it was like I was still blind!  Mom had to be my eyes, had to help me with everything!

I got the bandages off last week; now I can see better than ever!  I am still a little bruised up, but at least I don't look like I'd gone one too many rounds with Muhammed Ali!  LOL  I am looking pretty good, if I must say so myself (and believe me, with my face, there's no such thing as "looking good")!  :)

In the future, I may have more surgery on my face, but for now, I am going to enjoy being able to see without eye strain or wearing my stupid glasses.

Mom said until my eyes heal some more I am to cut down on the computer or in my writing, so my next few journal entries may be shorter than normal.  I hope you understand; I'm still recovering from surgery.  I need my rest.

I will be able to go back to school probably on Friday, maybe Monday of next week.  Until then, I'm to take it easy, not to do too much with my writing or reading, just rest my eyeballs.

Well, this isn't much, but I just had to let you know that I'm getting better.  I will write more when my eyes are back to snuff.  Until then, this is Nathan signing off!  (Eyes beginning to hurt, tear again; they do that when I get tired or write for more than several minutes.)  God bless and keep those prayers coming!  Thanks!

~Nathan.  :)

Nathan, I am glad that surgery went well, now, you rest and don't come back until the quack-salvers give you a clean bill of health, you hear?!
