Our "ratty" friend writes in his journal. This morning, he, his older sister, and parents are going out to breakfast.

Saturday, February 27, 2009, McKinney, TX., 6:15 a.m., C.S.T.~

Dear Journal~

Rat-Nose here.  Just woke up; might as well stay up because ma and dad are taking us out to breakfast.  Golden Corral.  Something different instead of eating here at home, which is what we usually do.

Guess ma or dad are tired of having to cook for two growing teenagers; so they opted to let someone else do the cooking or the dishes.

I got a job, finally, but I don't know if it's going to last.  I'm working at a Chinese restaurant, and the boss is a real hothead.  I'm doing the dishes.  It's okay, I guess, but I don't understand my co-workers; they don't speak much in the way of English.  They either speak Chinese, Vietnamese, or Spanish.  Arrgghhh!!

I've been working there for a week and a half now; by the time I get off, I'm soaked to the gills, and all hot and sweaty; it's a wonder people can't smell me a mile off!  I stink!!

It's disgusting!!

Gloria and I have been at each other.  Since she's older, she thinks she can boss me around, tell me what to do.  I keep telling her she's not my mother, and I already have a boss at work; I don't need two!!

Personally, I wish ma or dad could put a sock in her mouth!  That or put a muzzle on her, anything to shut her up!  Yeez!!

This is when I wish I had a little brother (or an older brother at least) to pal around with!!

If you don't hear from me as often, it's because I'm now working, but for how long, that remains to be seen.  The job itself is okay; it's putting up with people who won't (or can't) speak English or a hothead boss that drives me up the wall!

I guess I should be thankful because at least I'm working, and when that check comes next week (my first one!), it will feel so good to know I'm finally getting some hard earned greenbacks!  So many people aren't working because the economy's the schittz!!

Maybe in a year or two I can go to college; they have a program where juniors or seniors can take college courses, to get tham familiar with "the college racket", see if that's for them.  Everyone keeps pushing college on kids anyway, so this gives them the opportunity to see what it's all about.

I wouldn't mind being a veterinarian.  I love animals, especially dogs.  We used to have a dog, a chocolate lab I named "Muzzy", but he got hit by a car.  That was back when I was nine, just a little kid.  Oh, how I cried when I found out that "Muzzy" had been killed!!  I really loved him!

We haven't had a dog since because stupid Gloria is allergic to dogs.  Cat hair is even worse:  she gets around it, and she can't breathe, it's that bad!  It's crazy!!

Dog hair doesn't cause Gloria to have trouble with her breathing, but boy, her nose drips like a leaky faucet, and she can't stop sneezing!!

Well, I am going to shower, then get ready for our trip out to eat.  Yummy; I love Golden Corral!  I especially love their eggs and their burritos!  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Rat-Nose signing outta here!  Take care and God bless!

~Rat-Nose.  :)

Be happy you have a job, and about your bossy sis, don't sweat, I had TWO bossy older brothers so I think I was a bossy brother to my little sis, what's goes around comes around.
I used, many many many years ago, to occasionally eat my breakfast at a join that served an enormous cup of coffee with refills, sausages, ash-browns, tender fried bacon with sunny down eggs on top and fresh baked bread, all of it for a quarter, yes! 25ct, yes! I am so old!

You just reminded me of my snotty old sister when I was a kid; she said she was allergic to pets, too. And now that I have a houseful, she won't even come inside!
