Caleb McNamee updates us on what has been going on in his world, in particular, the health of his little brother, Webb, who has AIDS.

Caleb here. Caleb McNamee. I am the kid who has a little brother with AIDS; he's one-and-a-half years old, and he doesn't deserve to have to go through this!
Surprisingly enough, my brother is still around; there's no tellin' when he might go or how; anything can happen to him.
My brother has been in and out of the hospital; this last time, he nearly died when he got the wrong medication (he had an allergic reaction to it). They had to use the bug zapper on him to get his heart started and everything; it was awful!
I was in the room; they told us to leave, but I stood in the doorway, watched helplessly as the doctors and nurses tried to revive him. It was one of the worst things I could have ever experienced!
Now when Webb has to go to the hospital, mom and dad make darn sure that they don't give him the wrong thing, or it could very well kill him.
Mom and dad are thinking of suing the doctor who ordered that particular medication. They could have killed Webbie! Amazingly enough, the stupid jerk is still in practice; I honestly don't think the guy knows what in the hell he's doing!!
I hate having to worry about my brother like this! I wish he were a typical little kid; all he does is lie there in his crib, looking pitiful and weak! He's on oxygen all the time now, and nurses come over to help him a few days a week, to make sure he gets his meds.
Therapists come too, to stretch him, keep him limber. Of course, he howls through this time; it's horrible!! Most of the time I'm at school when Webb has his therapy; I'm really glad of this! That way, I won't have to put up with his screams!!
Seems the only solace I get from Webbie is when I'm at Grandma Juice's house or with my best friend, Pete. Pete is such a wiseguy; he's always trying to think of ways to make me laugh!
As for Grandma Juice, I love it there; she gives me all the cookies I can want, and I love playing with her Old English sheepdog, "Hairball".
Mrs. Jones, my teacher, at school, is still layin' the homework on thick. If you ask me, she's a regular pain in the ass! I can't stand her at times! I think she enjoys watching kids suffer through their assignments, then really lowers the boom if you don't do it correctly! I wish she'd go to Siberia; I've had enough of her!!
Well, I am going to go now; the bus is due to come in about ten minutes. I will write in here again soon; sorry for the long delay! It's just that Webb's health is so darned precarious; I never know one day to the next when or if he will end up in the hospital again!!
Karen I can not even begin to imagine watching a family member die of AIDS, we lost a family friend to the disease about four years ago, and it is terrifying, you capture the emotions well. If you havent read it yet, I would higly recomend Lurlene Mcdaniels book Baby Alicia is Dying about a baby girl with Aids.

Aids, that one of the big ones and yet we have advanced giants steps towards the total cure, yet, we are using a lot of money in war equipment because they fear of been attacked.
Well, Costa Rica hasn't military, weapons of mass destruction or bullets.
They have never been at war with anybody or invaded, see?
Webb should had all the medicines and care that war money could had giving him.
I will not comment except to say that the content is up to your normal, credible standards of worthy subject matter. However, your writing is a touch above what is normal for you here. There is a relaxed, homespun quality, that is not always available to the reader. For a moment, I had to recheck the author's name to make sure I was not reading some long lost Twain. Clemens, Ole Sam that is, would have approved!
The stormclouds of life are sure hovering over Caleb's life, aren't they? Can't imagine having to see your little brother having to suffer, all due to negligence. Very well penned, Karen.
As for Webb having an allergic reation to a medication, that's not the doctor's fault. Just my two cents ... such as it is. LOL
