Dear Journal~

Howdy!  Louisiana here; just got on break here at work, so I thought I'd write in here, to let y'all know  how we are faring.  Here goes:

I am happy to report that Janica and Rani have just about recovered from their bout with the chickenpox; thankfully none of the other kids got it, which was nothing short of a miracle!

Emir is still having pain in his ear; he may end up needing that surgery.  Not looking forward to it, but if it will help, then I'm all for it!  Poor little guy is so miserable!  I feel sorry for him!

Johnathon is getting stronger; not much, but he's at least headed in the right direction.  I was worried about him for a while; he may end up having to take some protein drinks, anything to bulk him up.  He's as skinny as a rail!  I hope he doesn't have to have a PICC line or some other form of external feeding device implanted, but something has got to be done to get some needed weight on his skinny body!

Anh called me last night from Oklahoma:  Thu, his fiancee', fell and broke her foot.  She's now hobbling around on crutches and has a cast adorning her foot.  Poor baby; I will have to say some extra prayers for her!

Ronee' never did have to go to the hospital in light of her recent flare.  She has recovered; she's back to her old self again.  Grouchy in the mornings, sunny in the afternoons.  LOL  Thank goodness for small favors!  LOL

I heard from Katrina Hammer in Alaska; she's still gripin' about the cold weather.  LOL  I told her she could have some warm Tennessee weather; I told her it wasn't exactly springtime here either, with temps in the 30's and snow/rain.  A few days ago we were under winter weather advisories with ice, snow, and freezing rain; it's now gone by the wayside, and temps are on the rebound.

On Saturday, we will be at our city's annual St. Patrick's Day celebration.  (Well, most of us, anyway:  Emir, Rani, and Janica probably won't join us, as they've been sick; Bill will stay home with them.  So it's just me, maman, papa, and the rest of the young hooligans.  LOL)

Sunday will be church day for everyone but me.  Gotta work.  LOL  (I can go in the evening.)

The practice sessions for the Cantata are going better than expected.  In the dramatization, I'm one of the people who openly mock Jesus.  A new part for me; in the past, I've been the mother of a young child, and another time I was an angel.  I pray all goes well during the production, and I pray people get the message we are trying to convey!

In a few weeks it's Easter; it's only evident everywhere you go, especially to the department stores!  Cards, bunnies, peeps, candy, toys, Easter baskets:  you name it, and it's out there, for everyone to see (or buy)!  I just wish people'd get to the real heart of why we celebrate the Easter season:  the Resurrection of our Lord and Saviour!
