Hello! Ice here, Ice Jasmine Esquival, of Trenton, New Jersey! Thought I'd write in here to let you know what's been up with me.
I am happy to say that Fawn, my younger sister (she's thirteen and a special child), is out of the hospital; she came home over the weekend. She's very weak, but she's doing a lot better, much to our relief. It's so good to have her back; we've missed her terribly!
My brother Jesus is trying to find some odd jobs to do, like helping out the neighbors, to pay for the window he busted last week when he put a basketball through it. He is learning to take responsibility for his actions.
Bronson, my brother with autism, is okay some days, not so okay on others. He still spazzes out when things don't go the way he wants them to; dealing with his unpredictable behavior is difficult at best.
Nevaeh, my baby sister, is as cute and adorable as ever. She has mami and daddy wrapped around her chubby little finger; all she has to do is say something cute or look at them with her big, dark eyes or her dimpled grin, and they positively melt!
She's not so bad; it's Bronson who gives me the most headaches. Jesus can be a pain, too, especially when he gets into one of his belligerent moods. Or when he picks on me.
He gets mad when people mess up his name. He says, "It's not JEE-sus; it's Hay-soos!!" This is when he wishes he had a different first name. I don't blame him. We can tell when he's had a bad day by how he acts. If people don't make fun of him, he's all sweet; if they've been giving him a hard time about his name, he turns mean as a snake.
I sometimes get picked on about my name, too; I mean, whoever heard of a kid named 'Ice'?? I don't know of any other Ices runnin' around; I sometimes feel like a freak because my first name is so unusual!
The weather is trying to warm up; it just hasn't really made up its mind yet. The calendar says it's spring; it feels more like January some days. We've had some snow flurries the past few days (that or rain); maybe by next week the temperature will finally break out of the forties. Oh, I hope so; I am so sick of cold weather/snow/rain, I could just spit nails!
I had a good time on Easter break, but Easter isn't until this Sunday (or maybe it's the Sunday after; I can't remember)! Anyway, Easter hasn't happened yet, so why did we have Easter break early?? It doesn't make any sense whatsoever!
Well, gang, I have to run along. Have to get ready to go to school, then go to my friend Juana's house; we're having a study date tonight. (Have a killer test on Friday in History; want to make sure we know what we need to know, so we don't flunk out!) Until later, this is Ice signing off; I'll write in here soon!
