Gainsville, TX, 9:46 p.m., D.S.T.~

I am writing this from my laptop, hiding in the bathroom, praying that we don't get hammered by severe weather.  It's really bamming and booming outside, and the sirens are going off; you can hear 'em.

Looks like we're already getting slammed.  Big time.  Currently under tornado warnings until ten (almost ten minutes from now), don't know if we'll get anything more.  It's rather scary.

We already had one round of severe weather go through yesterday afternoon; all we got out of that were some scary looking clouds, some smallish hail, some heavy rain, and lots of cloud to ground lightning.  Thank God, no tornadoes materialized.

Tonight, however, is a different story altogether.  We were put under severe thunderstorm watches around 7:30-8:00; then about an hour or so ago, they went supercell on us, and have been spitting out tornadoes.  There's one now here, and I'm praying, hoping we don't get any damage as a result of the storms.

I know I shouldn't be using the computer while it's storming, but I have batteries running it now, along with a generator.  Power's out, but not where I'm at; I know how to work around it.  I'm very smart!  :)

Anyway, there's me, my mami, papi, abuela, mi hermanas Gloria, Aseneth, and Conchita, as well as mi hermanos Oscar, Miguel, Tomas, Micah, and Ernestito.  We are all waiting out the storm, together, praying our place holds.

I don't like severe weather, especially since last year, when mi tio got killed by lightning last year.  He got hit in the head; he was killed instantly.  I saw it; I still have nightmares.  Every time I hear it storming, I have these damned nightmares, flashbacks; it's all I can do to keep from going berserk on 'em!

Well, it sounds like the weather's getting worse, so I'd best go before the walls fall in.  Pray we make it through; God, I'm getting so scared!!

Adios; until later, this is Orastes J. Ramirez signing off!  Keep us in your prayers!

~Orastes.  :(

Karen, although frightening, your words along with Karla's photo captured it well!

Oraste, me being from Sausalito CA, never had no storm-watch, although we had plenty of fog that made life miserable for days a at time.
Now, when you become old, there will be times when you can told the younger about the bad weather when you were just a young boy!
