Colbie Colbert here.  I am going to update you on the status of my family. 

My children, Diamond Ruby, Granger Dalton, and Kaitlyn Ashley, are doing, for the most part, well; I couldn't ask for anything more!  However, Kaitlyn, our second youngest (she's going to be six this year) was in the hospital last month.  Her heart again.  It went up to over 200 beats per minute; I was the ond who found her lying on the ground, gasping for air, her face a pearlescent blue-grey color.  It scared the hell out of me, so I called the paramedics.

Thank God, they got her heartbeat regulated, but they had to shock her a few times to do it.  It tore me up to see her having to go through this.  I don't think I will ever forget it as long as I live!

After the paramedics shocked her, they took Kaitlyn to the children's hospital, where she was admitted; she was in the hospital for about a week.  They gave her some new medications to help keep her heart beating at a more normal speed; so far it's been helping (knock on wood!).

Diamond and Granger are full of it:  Granger has taken to pulling my hair (or at my earrings; several times I think he was going to pull my ears off or rip my hair out by the roots!  OW!  LOL), and Diamond is so full of energy she wears me out!  She's into peewee sports (baseball); she loves it!  As for Kaitlyn, she's quiet, slow, takes life easily.  That's just her nature; she's a sweet little girl.

I don't know what will happen in the future, as far as Kaitlyn's health/heart is concerned, but I pray that God heals her.  She has such potential; every day is an ongoing learning experience for her; she takes life by the horns and runs with it as best as she can.  Even though she has Down's, she's whip-smart; she could teach people a thing or two exactly what people with DS can accomplish if they are only given the chance!

Well, I am going to go:  I am in the middle of doing laundry and taking care of Granger; Kaitlyn and Diamond are both at school; I won't see them until later this afternoon.  Until later, this is Colbie signing off; I will write in here again soon!  May you all have a wonderful Easter season and remember the Cross:  that's the main reason we celebrate Easter!
