Dear Journal~

Howdy!  It's your friend, Louisiana Sandusky, writing; hope this finds y'all in the best of health!

We're currently recovering from a very busy Easter weekend.  From Thursday until Sunday, we had performances of our annual Easter Cantata at our church:  we had one performance on Thursday, another one on Friday, two on Saturday (in the afternoon), and three on Sunday (two in the morning, and the final one that evening).

I am happy to report that all of the performances went smoothly, without a hitch.  Oh, there were some blown (or forgotten) lines or someone came out too early from when they were supposed to, but other than that, the Cantata went quite well.  I am most pleased at how it turned out.

Now I find myself at work, waiting to clock in.  Work from now until 7 tonight, twelve long hours, most of it standing on my feet.  Good thing I got some good shoes and support stockings!  LOLOL  I'll need 'em!

The family is well:  not one sick one among the bunch.  I pray it continues!

I have been trying to catch up on my e-mail between Cantata performances; in between that, I have been hearing about this woman in Britain who's turned the world on its ear with her stunning singing voice.  Her name is Susan Boyle, and she sang a song from "Les Miserables" on "Britain's Got Talent", and has the whole world buzzing.

It turns out that this woman is forty-seven years old, and she's not glamorous or svelte by any stretch of the imagination; however, when she opened up her mouth to sing, she had the judges (and a good part of the crowd) in stunned silence or in tears.

What's even more amazing is that she is mentally disabled!

I watched her amazing performance (thanks to YouTube, plus one of my friends e-mailed me the link), and I was completely blown away!  She may not know it now, but Susan Boyle is destined for instant stardom!  She is absolutely incredible!!

I pray she makes it all the way; what a shot in the arm that would be for people who live with disabilities (in particular, mental)!!

You can bet I will be following her progress, as will a lot of the world!

How is the weather in your neck of the woods?  We had some severe storms on Friday (including some tornadoes around Murfreesboro); we spent a good part of Good Friday in our shelter/safe room until we had to leave for the Cantata, and then we prayed all the way there that no more bad weather would come.  Thank God it didn't!

I am happy to say the storms have moved on; right now it's bright wall-to-wall sunshine, with a lovely stiff northerly breeze blowing; it's going to be a perfect spring day.  The flowers are bustin' out all over, and the leaves have greened up considerably.  The last dredges of winter have all but disappeared, which I am glad of; I was ready for warmer temperatures!
