Nathan Lake updates us on what has been going on with him since having eye surgery several months back.

Nathan Lake here.  The one who has the ugly mug.

Figured it was time for an update on what's been shakin' with me since my eye surgery a few months back.  It was painful, but now I can see better than ever, and for that I'm really grateful to God!

I'm just about healed now; still have to be careful when in gym class, make sure I don't get hit in the face (or snout), or it could undo all the hard work the doctors did, and I could possibly go blind--permanently.  I try to be careful, but ma, she's such a worrywart!

I may have problems with my face lookin' funky, but compared to where I was before I had all these surgeries, I'm lookin' more and more like a movie matinee idol every day!  :)

Not really, but you get my drift.  Or at least I'm hoping you do!  LOL

So, how was your Easter?  Mine was good; I'm just glad the Cantata is now history.  It went really well; I was really pleased!  I didn't have any lines, but I did sing as part of the Celebration Choir beforehand and afterwards.  Church is cool; I love hangin' out with my friends, learning about the Lord, and praising His holy name!  :)

After church, we went out to eat:  me, my folks, my aunt Toodie and her husband, Dale (that'd make him my uncle), and their six heathens (Tamara, Tyler, Toby, Tony, Tine, and Tristian).  We went to Pappadeaux Cajun Cafe; I porked out on catfish and alligator tail.  Also had some crawfish (or did until Tyler sneezed on it; gross!!).  That about did me in; I was so mad at him I wanted to throw HIM into a pot full of gumbo!!

Grr, he drives me crazy!!  He may be ten, but he acts more like a baby in diapers!  He's a brat with a capital B!!

After the crawfish fiasco at Pappadeaux (or as Tyler calls it, Poopadeaux's Cajun Cafe), we had an easter egg hunt at the park near where we live.  It was a disaster:  no eggs to be found; the kids that had been there earlier got every single stinkin' egg; there were none left for the late-comers.  Then Tine threw a hissy fit; she's four.  Acts more like a newborn.  A sore loser doesn't even beGIN to describe her!!

We got home earlier than planned (thanks to the borted egg hunt and Tine brayin' like a jacka**), and I think ma was mad at Aunt Toodie and Uncle Dale for bringing their kids with them.  (When they'd told us they were coming a few days prior, they didn't mention the kids:  they only said that they were coming.)

Liars!!  Ain't the first time they've done something like this!  They may be related to me, but I think they're loopers!!  They need to go to the funny farm!!

Well, I am going to go:  ma's calling me.  I forgot to take the garbage out; she's pretty steamed.  Nothing new; seems like any little infraction can cause her skin to boil with anger!  Take care, and may God bless you; just pray mom doesn't skin me alive!

~Nathan.  :/

I was struck by that menu "alligator tail" being the dish I've never heard of. Is this for real? Great story. Hugs, J'nia

I'm sure she won't skin you alive. Save up some money, and treat her to a meal at Poopadeaux's!

Crawfish fiasco? Oh boy! how delicate we are! Nathan, you should be gratefully that Tyler is around, without him you wouldn't have anybody to throw in the pot full of gumbo!!! LOL
Keep safe.
