Mansfield, Ohio, April 20, 2009~
Bart Simpson here. No, not THAT Bart Simpson, the one from the show, "The Simpsons", but a different one altogether! Besides, I'm not even ten years old! LOL I'm a grown man!
Thought I'd update you on what's been going on with my life, as well as the lives of my sons, Kenneth, Jack, and Jeremiah, as well as our daughter, Katie-Joy.
Kenneth and Jack are no longer so little; neither is Jeremiah. All three boys are heavily into sports: Kenneth and Jack are playing on their school's baseball team; as for Jeremiah, he's into track. They are now preteens; they are no longer so small.
We have a girl now in our family; she arrived about three months ago from Guatemala. We put in to adopt a fourth child last June; we were finally approved just this past January. She is three years old and is quickly picking up new English words every day; she is very smart (quite unlike her old man; her old man is still as dumb as a bag of rocks! LOL).
The boys are crazy in love with her; of course, like all brothers and sisters, they do fight, but most of the time they are very good and patient with her; I couldn't have asked for a better group of kids!
I am still working two jobs; did have three, but one folded. It's a little harder to save for the kids, or pay the bills on time, but we're managing, thanks to friends, family, and above all, God. I have learned to put my trust in God to get us through these hard times; so many other families are in the same boat as we are, or even worse. It makes me feel fortunate that I am still working; I still can provide for the family, which is a blessing!
We go to church every week; we go to a spirit filled Assembly of God church here in Mansfield, First Assembly of God. It's a wonderful church, and we all get so much out of it! (We've been going there for about the past four months or so.)
The weather here in Mansfield has been cold; we had snow the other night. Actually it was just a mixture of both snow and rain, but the fact of the matter is this: it still snowed. We are more than ready for the sunny days (or warmer temperatures) to come back! I think God's forgotten to tell the calendar here that it's spring! It's crazy!
Instead of wearing shorts, light jackets, or tee shirts, the boys (as well as myself) have been running around in sweaters, sweat shirts, heavy pants, or boots, as well as hats, mittens/gloves, or scarves!
Well, Katie-Joy is calling me again, so I will run along now. I will try to write in here, but don't have the time as I would like. Work too many hours; have to in order to provide for the kids or pay the bills! Hope you understand.
