Dear Journal~
Howdy! Bill Sandusky here; just got home from a hard day at Wal*Mart not even a half hour ago; man, am I beat!!
I am looking forward to Wednesday, only two days away: we are leaving for Louisiana early that morning; we should expect to be in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana (or thereabouts) sometime Friday morning, early afternoon, if everything plays out right. Hopefully we won't have any problems along the way; I bind that off our vehicle and ask for God's protection!
We are going to the annual Crawfish Festival in Breaux Bridge, near Lafayette: it is one of the major festivals in Louisiana; people from all over the world come to hear Cajun/zydeco music, dance, or eat crawfish in any shape or form. It's a huge deal.
We have been going to the Crawfish Festival since the children were really small, and my wife is the one who is responsible for us going: she was born in Breaux Bridge, and she's missed very few of them. Now she's indocrinated us into the Cajun culture; we've all come to enjoy the Crawfish Festival almost as much as she does.
We're also going because Johnathon and Ronee' are both scheduled to appear (Saturday afternoon); they're sandwiched between young Cajun phenom, Hunter Hayes, and Cajun legend, Belton Richard. I know they will both do a good job; the crowd really seems to enjoy them whenever they perform!
Of course, most of the kids (as well as Louie and myself) will probably be dancing to all that wonderful music (then regret it later, especially me)! LOL Stiff muscles, joints! *OW* Makes me hurt just thinking of it! LOLOL
I don't know if Steffi will be there or not: she recently suffered a stress fracture of her hip, and she has to spend some time in a wheelchair until her hip recovers. I doubt she will be dancing if she does come down there from Texas, where she and her boyfriend, Tank Griswald, live and go to college.
I doubt Lightning and her family will be there, or if Melizza and Dianna will be at the festival: the way it is looking now, it will only be us (myself and my wife, the parents, and the children who are still here). Quite a large group in istelf, but definitely smaller than past Crawfish Festivals!
Hopefully the weather won't be too nasty; there's nothing worse than rain (or a bunch of irate, damp Cajuns!) to ruin the festival mood!
We also don't need all the severe elements that go along with the rain: wind, large hail, cloud to ground lightning, or (gad) tornadoes! We will have to do some heavy duty praying to God to keep the storms away from the festival (or the festival attendees)!
Well, I am going to run along: thundering out now; hopefully no severe weather to keep us awake a good chunk of the night! I will write in here probably later this week or sometime this weekend. Until then, this is Bill signing off! Take care and may God bless you!
~Bill. :)
