Little bluegrass picker, five-year-old Colton Ramey, updates us on what has been going on with his family.

Howdy!  It's just li'l ol' me, Colton Blaize Ramey!

I am doing great!  Life couldn't be any better than it is right now!  We're still in the hunt for the Kentucky Opry Talent Search Finals, and I'm still pickin'/singin' along with my family; we really enjoy playing our music for the people who come to see us!

We also got that promised puppy.  We got a blue-heeler/coon dawg mix; I named him "Banjo".  He's eight weeks old, just a li'l feller; he's soooo cute!  I love it when he licks my face; it tickles!

And mama, she's gettin' big in the belly.  She is going to have a baby come Christmastime; whether it's a boy or girl, we don't know that yet.  I'm hopin' for a brother; there's too many girls in my family now as it is!  I want mama to name him Huck, as in Huckleberry Finn.  :)  Yeah, that'd be a good bluegrass name!

I got another letter from my girlfriend, Kaitlyn.  She said that she may be coming to a church in my area to sing; if so, I am going to ask mama or daddy if we can see her.  I hope so; I'd really love to meet her!  She's sooo cute!  I look at her, and my heart goes bump, bump, bump right inside my chest!

I also hear that her friend, David, may come, too.  I saw him on AGT last year, and he's a li'l older'n me, ten, I think.  He has austism (Colton meant autism); it causes him to have trouble talking to people, but he sings real good.  He is singin' 'round the country, too; I hear he and Kaitlyn are good friends.

Maybe if he comes here, I can see David, too.  That'd be cool if they did a duet together; I bet they'd do real good!

We tried out for AGT this year; don't know if we made it or not.  I was real nervous, so much, in fact, I nearly dropped my fiddle!  We did good, and the judges, they liked us, so that's a good thing!  I'll let y'all know if we made it or not!

Last year, they had a bluegrass family called the Wrights; they made it to the finals, but they didn't win.  Darn!  The youngest in that family is a boy, and he plays a mean bass!  Sings good, too!  They all do!  Maybe they'll come to Kentucky as well; I'd sure love to see 'em!

Daddy, he was worried for a while about his job, but for now, his job is going to stay open.  We've been prayin' really hard for God to let daddy keep his job.  I know the 'comony (Colton meant economy) is real bad for a lot of folks, but as long as daddy keeps workin', we'll be happy!

My brother Kentucky fell and broke his arm about two months ago; he just got the cast off last week.  He is happy to be playin' banjo again; he really missed it.  He was jumpin' in the trees, and he missed.  Landed clean on his arm; broke it like a twig.  Heard the bone snap and everythin'; it was scary, especially when it was hangin' loosely like a dead goose!  I knew he'd done somethin' to it!

Yet he didn't cry, even in the emergency room.  He was a brave soldier.  I was right proud of my big brother!  :)

The only bad part was he couldn't play his banjer.

This year we have a bunch of bluegrass festivals lined up.  Maybe we'll make a bunch of new fans; if we get on AGT, we will.  Somehow, bein' on tv brings on the fans!

Well, I am going to go.  Have to get ready for kindergarten in a few hours, also eat my breakfast, and feed the chickens before the bus comes.  That's my job.  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is your li'l bluegrass buddy sayin' so long!  God bless!

~Love, your friend in Kentucky, Colton Blaize Ramey.  :)
