Dear Journal~
Just got word today that Kendra needs our presence there in Memphis: her daughter, Holly, continues to hang on by a slim thread; things are still not looking all that encouraging for her.
She is in extremely critical condition; there's really been no change. She still remains comatose, on life support, and there hasn't really been any response from her.
I am getting ready to leave within the hour, to fly out to Memphis, so I can meet Kendra and Michael at St. Jude's Hospital, so we can offer our support and prayers during this horrible time in their lives. I have been on the verge of tears myself; this is one of the worst possible scenarios any family can face in their lives.
Bill will remain behind with my parents and the children who still live at home; as a result, we have cancelled our trip to Fan Fair, which starts today. We were looking forward to going, but we had no other choice but to cancel; to go and have fun while another friend is hurting is inconsiderate.
I have already flushed our Fan Fair tickets down the toilet. We have no use for them now.
I am taking a light suitcase; don't know how long I will be gone, but I know this: I will be gone at least a week or two.
I am trying to put my trust and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; however, I know that He allows things like this to happen for a reason. I just have to believe that something good will come out of this, not only for Holly's sake, but for the entire Kent family.
If Holly does end up dying, we want to be there, to say our goodbyes. We also want to show the Kent family that we care about what happens to them. Now is such a time.
There will be many tears shed; that's only natural. It may take some time, and a lot of doing on our parts, but we will eventually move on once the grieving process lessens. We will just have to take it slow, one day at a time, and trust in God above, or better yet, hope for a miracle for Holly.
There is a small, remote chance that Holly may pull through; we just have to hang onto that hope and pray continuously.
Well, Bill is going to drive me to the airport; have to be on the plane in two hours; it's scheduled to take off at 12:30 p.m. this afternoon. I will write again when I get there or in a day or two, with another update. Just keep those prayers coming and pray we all get through this in one piece before we ALL end up in the looney bin!
We would greatly appreciate it! Thank you and God bless!
~Love, your friend, Louisiana Mayrah. :( >tears!<
