Dear Journal~
A very tired, worried Wayne here. Thought I'd let you know what is going on here.
We are fine; it's my friend's daughter who's not. She is, at last report, still alive; however, things don't look very good at the present time. Young Holly Kent remains in a deep coma, with little response to stimuli or commands from the doctors and nurses. She is still in extremely critical condition.
Louisiana Sandusky has gone to Memphis, to show her moral support for the Kent family as they face this crisis in their lives. Louie has always been there for her friends; even if she can't, she still encourages, shows concern and compassion for those going through life's little bumps in the road.
Seems what the Kent family is going through is an extra big bump.
Doctors still don't hold out any hope for Holly. They say that it could be any day now when she does die. They say if she survives, she will face a very long, extremely difficult recovery; she may not be as she was prior to going into the coma.
Louie called me last night from the Ronald McDonald House, to let me know she got there safely. One less worry on my mind. In the meantime, I still continue to field calls from concerned friends and I try to give them the latest information.
I've taken to sleeping in the den, where the phone/computer is; I don't want to be far from it lest the phone should ring; after all, it could be news about Holly. I want to know as soon as possible as to what is going on with her.
Well, Sarah is calling me, so I will grab my crutches and see what she wants. I will then return to my station here in the den and wait until that next call or e-mail. Hopefully the news will be good; however, the way things are looking now, I seriously doubt it.
Just keep those prayers coming; we'd greatly appreciate it! And please, above all else, keep the Kents at the top of your list; they could really use God's help about now!
