"I know for sure I will make it."

It was my last class and I was feeling proud. When I started this ordeal, I felt I had no options but misery. Upon finishing I realized there were real ways to cope with divorce. I have everyone in this class to thank for this. I sat through every minute of this divorce class, even when at times I did not feel like going.
Two comments were made to me in the last class that I still laugh about. Jim had everyone gather to share what he or she learned and to discuss our future plans.
I went first, “I can’t believe how much I’ve learned from all you people.”
“Oh really, Mike, what did you learn?” Mary teased.
“When I first walked into this class, I thought I was the most screwed up person in the world.” That got everyone’s attention. I continued, “But after eight weeks of this and hearing all these bizarre stories, I feel I am doing much better. I have no idea what to expect from the future, but I know for sure I will make it, even if that means spending the rest of my life alone.”
