Tank here, Tank Griswald.  Thought I'd write to let you know how we're faring here.

Lately, it seems I have been getting little sleep, me and my girlfriend, both.  Seems that just about every night for the past several weeks we've been under the threat of severe storms during the afternoon/evening hours.  Well, last night, we got it.  Not so much here (did get a lot of lightning and thunder, plus some small hail, in addition to some heavy rains), but south of here, like in southern Johnson County and points south, they really got rocked.

We (my girlfriend and I) were hiding out, waiting out the storms, at Highland Hospital in Fort Worth; we waited in the emergency room area.  Not because we had any sort of medical emergency that warrented attention; we just wanted to wait out the storms, and have more walls between us.  We feel safer waiting at someplace like a hospital; the walls at our dorm aren't that thick; what's to say what a nasty storm might do?  Not very good odds of getting through it without some sort of damage.

I'm happy to say that Steffi is just about recovered from her recent hip fracture; she's still pretty slow in walking, so she will be on a cane for a while longer.  She just saw Dr. Melendez here at the hospital; he says that in a week she can go back to her normal way of life; just don't be falling down any more stairs, is what he told her.  I told him, "No problem, Doc; I'll make sure of that."  LOL 

The days start out clear, sunny, full of promise of good things to come (albeit a bit hot and humid), then, when the heating of the day starts up, the clouds bubble up; soon, supercells form, and then you have some serious weather to contend with, as they migrate eastward.  These supercells have been rather longlasting, as most supercells typically are, but then more storms form, and they weaken the potency of the supercells, and you have a line of severe storms.  While they can still do a lot of damage, the damage wouldn't be as bad as if there was just one (or two) supercell storms.

It's been like this for the past several weeks, and now it's getting to the point where we see storms pop up, we're like:  "Oh, no!  Not again!!"  It's getting way beyond ridiculous!!

We are more than ready for this crazy weather pattern to change!!  We are stormed out, tired of the constant threat of severe weather!!

We're like, "Enough, Lord!  It's not funny anymore!"

We've lost sleep on account of these storms  (or the threat of); we're ready to check into a motel someplace here in Fort Worth, so we can sleep!!  We're exhausted; we're so tired now it's a wonder we can still function!  We both don't do storms very well; we're sick of storms!! 

This kind of weather is more typical of March, April, or June; it's not supposed to go beyond that!  Yet that's what it's been doing; as a whole, this whole year has been strange, weather wise!  The whole nation has been experiencing weird weather, and we're not used to it!!

I pray this unsettled pattern changes soon; I don't know how much more we can take!  We're getting to the point to where we want to move:  to ALASKA, where the only storms are magnetic!!
