Dear Journal~
It's your sunny friend, Sunshine Lee, writing again; figured I had more to talk about, so here goes!
Last Friday, my sister, Ronee' Le-Anne (she's sixteen, nearly sixteen and a half) performed at Centennial Park with her band, "Cajun Spice"--or did until the thunderstorms rolled in. Then you should have seen them scrambling to get their stuff off stage, so it wouldn't get wet, and you should have seen the people scatter! It was not fun! I got soaked to the skin; it was nasty!
And my brother, Johnny (he's the same age as Ronee'; they're one day apart!), has to see a psychiatrist starting next week: he's been really depressed because of things. I don't know what all he is going through, but I bet a lot of it has to do with his health, which is getting worse. (He has Duchenne muscular dystrophy.) I am really worried about him; I hope he will be okay soon!!
I was ready to kill a certain orange kittycat: Seems that "Ricochet" loves to lie in my closet, sleeping on my clothes; well today, I found a dead mouse in amongst the pile of clothes. If there's one thing I hate, it's mice, especially dead ones! I screeched like a banshee! I guess she felt she had to give me her mouse as a "present". Well, presents are fine, but dead mice is one present I can do without!!
Mama comes home on Monday; she's been with our friend, Kendra Kent, helping out with Holly and Maddie, two of their kids. Holly, who has cancer, recently came out of a two-week-long coma, and Maddie is recovering from a fall. And Kendra had been having headaches but now gets shots to help them go away, so she's doing a little better. I miss mama; the house isn't the same without her!!
Daddy has been playing househusband; he's not too strict, but he won't put up with any nonsense. All he has to do is look at us, shake his head, or say, "I'm so disappointed in you!", and it tears us up! It's worse than getting yelled at or spanked!! I HATE it; all of us kids do!
When he's not here (due to working; he works at Wal*Mart), grandpere' and grandmere' Moliere (mama's mama and daddy) watch us, as do the older kids still left at home. They do as good of a job as mama and daddy.
In a few weeks is the Fourth of July. Our city will be holding it's second annual "Red, White, and BOOM!" Festival/Fourth of July Celebration; it's a huge deal. We went last year; we had a ball, especially when they shot off the fireworks and had the F-16s fly over after Carrie Underwood sang the "Star Spangled Banner".
This year they have David Militello and Kaitlyn Maher from "America's Got Talent" doing that honor. David's ten; Kaitlyn's five. They're just kids, but they're quite good!
In addition to that, they have the Nashville Symphony Orchestra doing the patriotic concert, plus music by people like Vince Gill, Josh Turner, and Miranda Lambert, plus music by my brother and sister Johnathon and Ronee' (and Ronee' 's band, "Cajun Spice"), Paul Gregoire and "Roux Du Bayou", and other local entertainers.
I just hope the weather co-operates this year; we want fireworks; we just don't want the natural kind, the kind found in thunderstorms!!
I went to my friend's house yesteday. Her name's Jennifer. She has two kitties, "Frick" and "Frack"; they're twin brothers; they look exactly alike. They're orange Maine Coon mixes. They're adoRAble!! I just love 'em!! (Jenns got them last week; she got 'em from the local animal shelter.) I've been friends with Jennifer for years!
After I saw her kitties, we went swimming all day. It was fun!!
Well, daddy's calling again, so I will go. (He's off work today.) I will write in here again soon; until then, this is your friend, Sunshine Lee, saying bye! God bless!
~Love, your friend, Sunshine Lee. :D
