     A teenager shares his story.

My name is Brian Winslow; however, most people call me "Beast".  Once they see me they'll know why immediately.

Even though I am only fourteen years old, I am nearly 7' tall and weigh nearly 450 pounds.  Let's face it:  I'm a giant among daisies!  (Got the height from a relative on my daddy's side; he's 7 1/2' tall and weighs 550 pounds.  He's a gorilla!)  Don't have anything wrong with me:  I'm just...BIG.

Even with my intimidating appearance, I'm as gentle as a newborn kitten:  I wouldn't hurt anyone, not even a fly.  I love people, and I find it easy to make new friends with practically everyone I meet.

I will be in the ninth grade come September.  *Sighh*  My first year in high school.  Only three years to go, and I will be in my last year of school; it won't be long before I think about where I might want to go to college.

I live in Radnor, Pennsylvania, with my mom, Sharon, my dad, Ozzie, and my three younger sisters Paisley Lynnea (10), Eden Michelle (8), and Aurora Deanne (5).  I did have a baby brother, Milo Thomas; however, he died a year ago from crib death:  he was only six months old.  How I miss him!!  It was totally unexpected, and we are still grieving one year later.

Milo was a surprise; in the six short months he was a part of our lives he was fun to be with.  We loved his squeaking noises and the ever curious expressions on his little face; he hardly ever cried, and he was a very good baby.  Now he's with Jesus, and we miss him every day, especially when we go into his room.  (His room is as we left it when mom found him dead; there's no way we want to forget about Milo.  We do this to remind ourselves of what we once had.)

Anyway, back to my story.  I am a typical teenager:  love to sleep in on the weekends (sometimes I don't get up until 1:00 on Saturdays or Sundays), eat pizza slathered with vinegar and olives (not to mention, jalapenos!), go skateboarding with my pals in the summer (or snowboarding in the winter), and go to the mall, where my pals and myself hang out at the game arcade, to see if we can improve our skills on the games they have there.

I also love to annoy my sisters, especially the baby sister (Aurora).  She's so gullible it's not even funny.  I love to listen to her screech when I tell her there's a roach crawling in her hair or there's a dead rat in her cereal.  Not funny, I know, but I can't resist getting her to scream!

I think it's hilarious when she goes screaming to mama to tell on me; I then get chewed out by mama, but I don't care; it's fun torturing Aurora!  LOLOLOL

People tell me I can be a security guard or at least a football player.  Maybe so, but right now, I want to enjoy being a teenager.  I want to enjoy the remainder of my summer vacation; seems hard to believe that it's nearly July!  Soon, we'll start back to school; these next months of summer will zip by so fast it will make my head spin!  It always seems to happen:  the summer months fly by while the school months just poke along worse than a lazy donkey!

Well, I am going to annoy Aurora some more (I don't annoy Paisley or Eden; they won't let me get away with it, for one thing!), so I will go for now.  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Brian Winslow (aka "The Beast") signing outta here!  So long!

~The Beast (Brian Winslow), aged 14.

Brian has a gland problem that will lead to early death. Fourteen year olds of that size rarely have 'normal' teenage years.

Otherwise, written like a 14 yr old would.

Well penned yet again. Does he have Gigantism or Marfans Syndrome?

Sounds like another great chacter but I would perhaps tone down the weight size to make it a little more realistic, other than that love his positive attitude and love of life.

They said that one must take them when they are young and give the opportunity to grow. Maybe this boy will get a break.

Sounds like they ought to sign him up for a pro basketball team in a few years! Another wonderful character you've introduced us too!

Sounds like he has pretty good self-esteem for having a size that other kids could tease him about. He seems to be taking it well. Good for him. However, I kinda wish he would have come up with differnt nick name for himself. He sounds like a great boy!

With Love,

Wow! He's a big guy for 14 years old. Good story, Karen!

If a nearly 7 foot tall teenager told me there was a bug in my hair or a rat in my cereal, I'd scream, too - then kick him in the knee! LOL Poor Aurora! No wonder she thinks her brother is a Beast. :) Well done, Karen!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. *lights!* LOL :D
