Finnegan here. Finnegan O'Flaherty, otherwise known as "Flea" by most people. Hope this finds you well; me, I'm just um, shall we say, pluggin' away. (Or should that be "itchin'"?? LOL)
I am still living here in Louisiana. I would give anything to leave, especially since summer's turned her after burners on. God, it is so HOT here! And HUMID!! It does NOT help my itchiness AT all! I am more than ready to move to Alaska!!
I am still getting haranged by my older sisters and the other kids. I'm just glad school is out for the summer; I was about to go out of my skull from all the teasing I had to put up with!! I don't know why kids can't get past the fact that I have psoriasis and that what I have is NOT catching!!
I don't know why my other family members didn't get "blessed" to have this condition I must live with every day: I wouldn't wish it on anyone (excepting, perhaps, for the terrorists)!
When it's hot like this, I just stay holed up in the house, in air conditioned comfort, and pray for a good, soaking rain event. Not a hurricane, per se, but anything to make the sun stop shining! The sun and heat only aggravates my psoriasis, makes it itch all the worse! (As if it's not already bad enough!)
Now we're in hurricane season; I wonder what Mom Nature has down the pike. It's anyone's guess; but after the last several years, I don't need another Katrina, another Rita, or another (Y)Ike come roarin' down the bayou!!
(Yes, we were in two of them, Rita and Katrina. Ike just skirted the area, enough to dump heavy winds and rain on us, but not much else, thank goodness. That was more east of where we were at, like New Orleans, Slidell, Metairie, all, of which, got smacked really hard by her ferocious temper.)
I will spend the Fourth of July here at the house. The rest of the family will go to the parade; me, I'll just sit back, relax, and wait until the fireworks at dusk; I'll then sit on the roof and watch them. Have a real good view of 'em; we're not too far from where they shoot them off. The family will then go to the park while I stay here. I'd go too, but the sun only makes me itch all the worse. Don't need that in my life!!
My life's already one big itch session as it is, if you know what I mean! LOL
Well, I am going to fix me some grub, then go swimming. I will write in here again another time; until then, this is Flea O'Flaherty saying so long! God bless!
~Your itchy Louisiana friend, "Flea". :)
