Dear Journal~
Bill Sandusky here. A very tired, sore Bill Sandusky. I just woke up; I am stiffer than stiff! Those danged airplane seats aren't very comfortable (at least, not to me)!
Just got back from Las Vegas, Nevada, yesterday; the weather is hot here, too, as I've come to discover. Temperatures in the mid-to-upper nineties, very oppressive. Yuck! Hard on my asthma; had to use the inhaler at least three times since coming home; looks like it may get a workout today, too!
Sigh!
Well, Ronee' made it to the second round at her audition. She will try again next month to advance for a chance to go to the semi finals. If she makes it, she will then compete for the finals. Familiar territory. She made it to the second round last year, but was voted off when it really counted. She was disappointed; we all were; however, she knows that life goes on, even after failed auditions.
And she can try again, which she did. She did a great job at her audition; the judges just loved her! I was so proud of her, as only a father can be; I was ready to bust!
Now we have July Fourth (and our city's annual "Red, White, And BOOM!" Festival (and the city's annual parade) staring at us; seems like only yesterday it was Mother's Day. Now soon it will be Independence Day/July Fourth; soon it will be time for sparklers, red-, white- and blue buntings/flags, hot dogs, hamburgers, and cold drinks, picnics, parades, and fireworks!
I love the Fourth of July: always have, always will! It is one of my very favorite holidays; ain't nothin' like celebrating the Fourth with family!
The kids were glad to see me (and their sis) upon coming home. I was glad to see them too; I really missed them; most of all, I missed my loving wife! It is soo good to be back home!
You would think I was gone for several weeks instead of just a few days, the way the kids acted! LOL
Johnny seems to be gaining a little weight: his face appears fuller, and his bones aren't as noticeable as before he got the PICC line installed. Looks like it's doing its job. A huge relief for him, and for us. He looks like he's bursting with health; if one can overlook the wheelchair and respirator tube, he looks like any typical teenaged boy. He's looking pretty good, if I do say so myself!
The counselling started this week; it's too soon to tell if it's helping with his depression, but at least he's going. He should have done that a long time ago. He's had too much happen to him, and it's been playing havoc on his overall physical health. All we can do is pray and hope for the best.
He does seem somewhat happier, so that's been an answer to prayer! I pray it continues!
Yesterday, Louie said that Roberto got sick again; he threw up in the pool. The other kids abandoned ship, ran for the hills. He's okay; he just swallowed too much water. Someone wasn't really paying attention to him; someone needs to be with him at all times, or else he could get into trouble. Louie read the kids the riot act; she was really fit to be tied!!
I don't blame her!
Speaking of Louie, on Thursday, June 25, the city held its annual city-wide disaster drill; she said it went relatively smoothly; but by the end, she was ready to snatch the hair out of her head! LOL A mock terrorist attack took place; thousands of people were involved, to ensure it went well, which it did. She was stationed at the hospital, and when all these "victims" started pouring in, she said she about went stir crazy!
I would have liked to have participated, but I was out of state. Ronee' would have liked to have done it, too, but she was with me. :)
I bet I would have made a terrific victim; I am very good at method acting! LOL
Well, I have to get the kids up, ready and dressed if we want to be out the door by seven thirty; that doesn't give us much time; it's six fifty now! Time to hustle, Bill, as only an arthritic body can! *OWWWW* LOL I will write in here again soon; until then, take care and God bless! I just wanted to let y'all know I was back home!
